Yesterday went to investigate and feel a ProVari, what is disappointment it was . Last time I felt this way over something was when I went to look at a Lotus Europa (I'd lusted after one of these for years ) but the reality didn't meet the dream, same with the ProVari. Why you may ask - it just felt plasticy, I didn't like the feel of the button, it just wasn't what I'd hoped it would be. To overcome my disappointment I bought a neat little Atom Clone (this thing is so cute and tiny) hits like a steam train and is perfect in size in 18350 mode. A new home for my Protank 2 (bought the airflow adapter as suggested, and it makes an enormous difference to the Protank). So from going from no mech mods I've now bought 2, An Atom & a Magneto, let's hope the Magneto performs as good as the little un

I'm a bit surprised you thought a ProVari felt plasticy as one of the selling points is the build quality and many people comment on how weighty they are. Out of all my mods the PV is most definitely the most rugged.

anubis, Never have bothered with an Atom, but for quality of build, the Magneto must be good as @johanino is recommending them and mods generally don't last long in her hands. Just enjoy

I read the phrase a lot - but has anyone here actually been hit by a train?

I read the phrase a lot - but has anyone here actually been hit by a train? Hopefully not. There are some well-used expressions in the Vaping scene. People talk about x "hitting" harder than "y". I tend to just trust in the maths (ohms, watts) to explain away these things. I can understand it to a point, I guess. My Taifun hits harder than my Kayfun, so I just turn it up...

Here watch out for osiris, I think he wants your job ha ha

anubis - a magneto with a decent rba on top and you will be blissfully happy The connector can go (or did before they introduced adjustable centre pins) - just get another Another thing that can and will go if you vape a lot in a few months is the switch. Get spider magnets from ebay and put one down each side... You also have to be prepared for like the switch coming loose and having to rebuild it Phil Busardo (pbusardo) does a good vid on that www.howto-do.org/IPTmsHowToCNRqtq/A-PBusardo-Review-Smoktech-Magneto.htmlSo yeah a few issues with the magneto but nothing major I have dropped it down gutters. I have shorted it. All sorts - still works

Aren't we lucky to have such a range of devices to choose from is what I'm thinking, something to suit everyone.

Mech mods are bloomin great, it's also worth cleaning the pins / battery and atomiser contact points with brasso etc just to clean of the build up of oxidation.
Well I do on a weekly basis in the belief that cleaner contacts = better conductivity = more power delivery.

I'm a convert to mechs mainly due to getting my first sub-ohm (0.7) dual coil working on the Lab... it chucks out the vapour (tm RiP)! Have a clone nemmy on the way from slowboatfromchinatech, for the next subohm coil. The new Vamo looks interesting too, 30W, nice electronic mod for subbing I imagine.

I'm also a convert to mech mods - I was a dedicated Vamo user until I got my Caravela, now the Vamo gets used for ohm testing, and nothing else!! With a 1.3ohm coil on, the Caravela does everything i want it to, with great battery life and a good hefty feel to it. I am also considering getting an Atom clone from FT . . .

I am also considering getting an Atom clone from FT . . . Shall I hack your account and put one in the basket for you? It would be a pleasure to help spend your money.

Well, that's very kind djs, but I need to place the order at a good time to explain to the OH why our bank account has dropped a bit! I can legitimately explain some of the spend on my vaping mate James, for whom I am buying a Russian clone, but that doesn't account for the other $60 of kit currently in my cart
