I've been smoke free now for just 7 weeks. Most members here have a lot more time under their belts, but still you will appreciate what I'm gonna say here. I first tried vaping a couple of years ago with the (rather expensive) cig-a-likes from the local supermarket, and then the ego style batteries and cheap disposable clearomizers with off-the-shelf flavours. However I always failed, whether it was just bad news or health issues. The main problem I had was social drinking. No matter how hard I tried I really, really wanted that cigarette, and I'd wake the next day with a 20 pack and a new lighter beside the bed. Now, yesterday I went to the meet in York. I went open-minded, half expecting to pick up some fags. But no, I didn't. The ale flowed, as did the chat and the vapour. What a wonderful smell we made, I think we got everyone's attention and I'd like to believe we may have 'converted' a couple of smokers, or at least opened their eyes. I did not want a cigarette, I don't want one now. In fact apart from explaining it to one of our visitors I never even thought about it. I can't work out whether that was the natural me or because I was surrounded by fellow vapers, but I'd like it to be the former. I now consider myself an 'established' vaper for life. The switch is complete and I can look forward to the rest of my life secure in the knowledge my old life is finally buried. Thank you everyone for the support you give here and the work you put into this community. Extra thanks to those who were at the York meet. I'm bad with names but thanx Matt, Matt and Steve (don't be offended if I missed you, I was a wee bit tipsy)

That's what is great about this group of ours, we support each other.
Well done, I've been smoke free now since Ash Wednesday (I didn't plan it that way but it was quite apt) my first big test was popping down the local supermaket to get some cat food, my wife has never smoked in her life & I have never smoked in her company so any trip out on my own I would immediately 'light up' and a trip to Morissons would ALWAYS include stocking up for the week ahead, so when I managed that trip without even looking at the tobacco kiosk I felt proud as punch

Stood chatting to a work mate the other day, and instinctively moved upwind of him so I couldn't smell the fag he was smoking. He asked why I had moved, and when I told him, he said "well, you won't be going back on the fags any time soon, will you?". He's just so right - I won't. Cheers and gone.

I did kind of waver a little bit. No. 1 son is staying for a few days and he smokes rollies. So, during the day I was waiting for the kettle to boil and saw the packet of baccy and papers left on the work top. 'Hmmmmm....perhaps I could try just a bit of one ?' So I rolled one, went outside and lit up. It was a bit yukky, but I persisted, and the memories of smoking (or not smoking since December) came back, finished it, stubbed it out and chucked it in the bin.
My conclusion was that perhaps I need to either upgrade the nicotine level from my usual 0 - 6mg and go to a 12mg/18mg, and perhaps try a tobacco flavour, which I have not tried yet, mainly because I thought why switch from a tobacco product to a fake tobacco product.
My favourite flavours currently are, cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, banana split, strawberry milk, sweet red apple and a couple of others that I won't bore you with.
So, although I sort of enjoyed it, it wasn't enough to make me nip up to the shops and buy a packet of ciggies.

Well done , it's good to hear. It's four weeks to the day tomorrow for me. Iv reward myself with a second hand mvp off member on here. They are posting g to me tomorrow so will take a few days I would think to get to me. If I get on ok with it then I will look Into getting somethin along the same lines new. I've been told by another member on here that she gets the same sort of vapeing out of hers as she dose t he the itaste vv3 which is what I'm ushering now. I'm giving it a go as I want something that feels a little more robust when I. Working outside. And the longer better battery as I don't work around plugs is another added extra for me. The member they can say who they are if th like. Has sold it to me at a good price so I'm looking forward t o having a go with it. I'm thinking of. Ordering. One of the pro tanks for it. And an air flow control as well.
I think.it's important to reward yourself at mile stone's. Two months ago I would not have said I would have been able to do anything other than duel fuel.

Started vaping about 15months ago, haven't wanted or needed a fag since( smoked 100gms Samson a week for over40 years) now hate the smell of ciggies and realise what non smokers used to have to put up with! Started with tobacco flavours but have moved on now.
