Hi folks, It's been quite a while since I've posted on here, as I fell off the wagon and went back to the dirty real cigarettes I've now decided that I want to quit the real ones again and go back to my trusty tasty e-cig but I'm having some issues now.. I'll try and explain and not bore you too much. I'm fully expecting I've done something wrong to cause this but I have no idea what, and I'm really hoping someone can tell me if there's a way I can fix this or if I just need to buy a new kit. So the kit I have was bought quite a long time ago, and I believe it was called the Echo 510. When I decided to start using it again, I found that the cartomisers that came with it were no longer any good, so went looking for replacements. I popped onto the website I had used originally and decided I'd try a clearomiser this time, so I bought the Kanger T3D Dual Coil Clearomiser as I couldn't remember at the time whether that was the right fitting or not. It arrived, and I tried it on the battery and it seemed to fit perfectly, so I filled it with juice but found I couldn't get it to produce any vapour. Then I remembered that the battery is a 510 fitting, not an ego (I'm not sure what the difference is), so I went back onto the website thinking I'd buy a new battery, and instead found a 510 to ego-t adapter. I thought for a couple of quid, it's got to be worth a try. But it hasn't helped the situation Basically, what's happening is, if I connect the clearomiser directly to the battery and push the button, the button lights up as normal but when releasing it, it stays on for a couple of seconds then shuts off. Whereas under normal operation with the cartomisers that came with it, when releasing the button it fades out, and it does it a bit quicker. Then, when I add the adapter, on pushing the button it just flashes three times. Unfortunately I don't know what these light sequences mean and I've lost the instructions to the kit. I'm fully expecting I've done something daft that's caused this, but I'm really hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction so I can get it right this time. Many thanks in advance. J

Sorry, just needed to add that as an extra measure, I also tried the clearomiser on a friend's Innokin iTaste battery and again, it seemed to fit on nicely, but didn't work.

welcome back ...I just did a swift google, if I fished out the right thing it looks like a normal ego style kit? How long is it since you used your as it could just be a half dead battery as they do degenerate with time

Why don't you just start afresh with a new kit that won't give you the hassles jmc160. It's what I would do, to give myself the best possible chance of sticking with it this time . . . .

hmm, now then -- that reminds me kanger T3D,
I know I bought some kanger T3S tanks and they were a complete swine on both my itaste vv's but worked fine on an ego battery. There is a chance its the connection (that may be hindered by the tanks collar) I used to have to screw them on overly firm to get them to work <<am surmising/guessing here>>

jmc160 Possible a couple of things. 1 adapter is shorting out battery 2 the battery central pin is shorting. if it's that old, the insulator around the central pin (look in the top where you screw the clearo) You should see a shiney post surrounded by a grommit. BTW, 510 fitting is where the clearo screws in using the smaller set of threads Ego fitting uses the larger set of threads found on the outside. If it's a case of bad insulator (2 above) just buy a couple of new batteries. they all have both fittings on.

How long is it since you used your as it could just be a half dead battery as they do degenerate with time Thanks very much, I've just checked back in my email to see if I could find the order confirmation, and apparently I bought it in October 2011!! I had no idea it'd been that long... It was last used yesterday with the last of the unused cartomisers that came with it. I've been using it for about a couple of weeks with no problems, I've also had a dripper on there and that's worked fine too. I'll try charging it now though, to see if it makes any difference...

The clearo seems to tighten up a little before it gets there.

I've looked as closely as I can at the battery pin, and it looks to be OK, but that is to my extremely untrained eye Your option 1 makes sense, and I can only assume that that might be what the flashing light means. I believe I've seen the light do that before, but for the life of me I can't remember why or what I did to fix it.. I'm starting to think a new battery is in order. Any recommendations of a battery that will work with these new clearo's?

I have a kanger t3d and t3s also and they dont work my egos or my itaste. The connections just don't meet! I use my mini protank and iclear16s on my itaste vv and t3d t3s on my smok tech vmax as they work brilliant on that. I've ditched my ego batteries for innokin itaste vv v3 from www.myepack.co.uk which came with 5 iclear 16s. Love it. Not sure what other batteries the t3d would fit on sorry.

jmc160 you said you had tried on another battery and it still didn't work this would therefore suggest that there is something wrong with the clearomiser ...have you Tried checking that the head is screwed in properly ?
