I still remember the day Rik and Ade done a act right next door to my secondary school where Rik jumps though a sugar glass window and lands on a mattress for one of his shows (never found out what show) but he was hilarious, there was a big spread of food outside the building for the staff and they also put out a spread out for the school children too, he was out with us having a great laugh pulling all kinds of funny faces with us and having a real good time (not so much ade though) ....real nice person, signing autographs for everyone, i did not get a chance to get one but seeing him was enough for me.

I was gutted when I heard about Rik yesterday and I couldn't really do anything the rest of the day, he is one of my favourite all time comedians and will never be forgotten.

So sad.

Was lucky enough to see the "Bottom Live" show many moons ago in Glasgow.

It is so sad - I was lucky enough to meet him a while ago & he was a totally normal person just chatting with him & so polite, too.

I started loving his character as Kevin Turvey (from A Kick Up the 80s) and then The Young Ones, Filthy Rich & Catflap, Comic Strip, Bottom, New Statesman, Blackadder & all the live shows I went to see.

R.I.P., Rik & condolences to his family.

Ade Edmonson summed it up:

"There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing. They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard."
