So I'm having a wee problem. I was using a protank 2 with airflow, micro coil and rayon wick for about a week, it started spitting at me and flavor was dropping off so last night I changed it.
I am not getting the umph out my juice like I was with the old wick. thought maybe I've over stuffed it, so tried again and now same lack of flavor but back to spitting again.
Any ideas? Same tank same juice same coil *scratches head*

Not sure if protank afc are same as my fasttech ones Mrsmac but with the fasttech ones it's like another contact inside the base and maybe needs cleaning with cotton bud.

Clean the protank 2 as said above If that don't work dry burn the coil Make sure your juice bottle isn't too low in volume as too thin juice can also affect things Get a davide mega

I found my little bundle of (presumably) Rayon given to me at Vapefest. I need to get cracking on with some rebuilds ASAP. Could either VapingBad or davetherayon give me a pointer as to how much width to use? Looking by eye, is it about 1/4 of the width of the full thickness? (I use approx. 3mm diameter coils) (or, to put it another way, is it about the same thickness as rolled cotton wool?)

I use about half of the width for 3 mm coils, it needs to be squeaky when you pull it through as it shrinks a little.

I'll report back, but not today probably.

So far after testing it i find the following compared to basic organic cotton:
Vapour: About the same, cannot really notice any difference
Usability: About the same, maybe slightly harder but this could be due to getting used to it
Flavour: No difference
Throat hit: Quite a increase...i like that
How long the wick lasts: Almost double the length of time
Chance of burning: A lot less, i can crank up the voltage and still no hint of burnt taste, so it's less fragile
Overall: Better than basic cotton wool only due to it lasting longer and that the chance of a burnt wick is lesser, plus i do like the extra throat hit.....but i still like organic cotton wool, i don't know why but i feel safer with it.

Always subjective ain't it Super-Shiny? Vapour: Bit more as thisrts through liquid quicker. Usability: Lots easier than cotton, once you re adjust to amount required though...not at all like cotton. Flavour: slight sharpness noticeable in some flavours. How long the wick lasts: Longer I'd say, but not had much chance as mess about a lot! Chance of burning: Much less chance, even if get burnt taste when you put more liquid in dripper its pretty much back to the way it was....unlike cotton. Overall: I find it much easier than cotton(which is the obvious wick to compare it with), and less prone to problems as wick drys so its a win for me. I will re wick a tank at some point and longevity will be more required here.
