I have been trying various combinations of cartomiser and battery and forming impressions of how much hit they give. From the voltage of the battery and the resistance of the carto I was calculating the current in amps, but found that didn't really correspond to what I was experiencing. It suddenly dawned on me (doh!) that what I should be calculating was the power in watts. This is probably blindingly obvious to many on here! Anyhow I did a few calculations and found the results corresponded very well to my subjective impressions - I wonder if others agree? I have a Riva which runs (when fully charged) at roughly 4.2 volts and an Ego which runs constantly at about 3.6 volts. I have tried SR cartomisers (about 3 ohms) and LR's at 2ohms and 1.5 ohms so calculated the following: Voltage / Resistance(ohms) / Current(amps) / Watts
( 4.2 ) / ( 3 ) / ( 1.4 ) / ( 5.9 )
( 4.2 ) / ( 2 ) / ( 2.1 ) / ( 8.8 )
( 3.6 ) / ( 2 ) / ( 1.8 ) / ( 6.5 )
( 3.6 ) / (1.5) / ( 2.4 ) / ( 8.6 ) |
So its the Riva at 2ohms and the Ego at 1.5ohms for me at the moment. Of course when I get my Christmas present it will be 5volts and 12.5 watts! I should add that I have been using the same 24mg juice on these and obviously the juice, PG/VG mix and nic strength are also going to be big factors. |
