Can't think who would have advised you to cut down so early into vaping it seems all wrong I was a 20-30 cig a day smoker and still use 18mg. I mix my own too but don't even think about cutting the nic yet. You only need to cut the nic level if you over vape then you find you will get headaches and feeling sick. When and if you cut down you need to do it gradually. You can mix some of your menthol with any other flavour you have a little at a time until you find something that suits you. firewall - I agree with others, up the nic to 18mg. I dropped to 12mg some time ago, but especially at work I find it's not enough and I still keep some stronger stuff to keep me going.

With regards to flavours, it's a case of trying things out. If it feel expensive, remember it's cheaper than cigs! Any you don't like you can sell or trade in the classifieds here, somoeone will take them off your hands I'm sure.

Try all sorts of things: tobacco, deserts, fruits, menthols, and see what takes your fancy. Find a supplier you like and try a variety of their juices. For me, I love vaping king juices but I have a very sweet tooth. Try others that people recommend - red Astaire, snake oil, monkey jizz, Druide, to name just a few very popular juices.

Oh btw adding menthol to some of the ones you already have might make them to your liking even if you don't like them as they are now

I'm taking no chances!! at 10mg I happily chain vape my head off at home but if I'm out and about all day and know i'll be limited in vape time - I have higher strength to hand. I think you get to where you want to be in time and theres no point forcing it I used to be a dreadful addict! You too will get your nicotine lowered in time but its not a race   enjoy vaping and just see how it goes   I'm sure you will get to grips and comfortably lower nic. strength to suit

Yeh ive been there, going to the B&M and not finding anything I like, and leaving because I think im starting to annoy the assistant. But sometimes it can help someone to find something and doesn't cost a penny doing it.

Im going to go for some of those sample packs, they look good value at £10ish and I would like to find a few new flavours as well.

Having been a hardened smoker for more years than i care to remember I also struggled with finding the right juice at the start.
I wasted loads of money trying different flavours because I thought that getting away from the whole tabbaco thing was the right thing to do.
After a year of vaping I have discovered that anything other than a tabbaco flavour just dont do it for me. Some people need to still have the taste in order to fool thier head into accepting vaping as a replacement for stinkies.
Yes I would love to never have that taste in my mouth again, but for me its never going to happen. I envy those who can quit the stinkies then vape on custard all day.
Anyway enough rambling.
If your not that bothered about getting away from tabbaco flavours I can highly recommend trying the flavour below. Ive found that the 100% vg is as close to a stinky so far. If you go for it try it 18mg.

I have ordered some samples from smokerainbow so that will give me more things to try out. I was also looking in the review section so will order up some things from there but at 24/18mg and see how I go. Thank guys.

I too was thinking about upping my nic level..... until I bought my Fogger v4... this thing pumps out so much vapour I finally get the 'satisfaction' that I used to get from a cigarette, but I'm still on 12mg juice.
