Just put a new 1.5. Coild head in my aerotank mega (only used 2.0s so far) and I'm getting no throat hit, any idea why this is? Is it just because the coil hasn't broken in? Surely the throat hit should be higher to start with?

On what device? If using variable wattage it automatically sets itself to whatever coil you use so you need to tweak it manually to get more.

Oh yeah of course, for some reason i was thinking "higher the wattage, higher the voltage", ragardless, so on a 1.5 ohm coil, 10 watts would deliver less volts than 10 watts through a2 ohm coil?

On a device that has variable voltage and variable watts, if you use the watts it's like auto, it adjusts to suit the coil so a lower ohm coil will be much the same but if you use the volts it's like manual setting so if you fit a lower ohm coil it'll be hotter.
Just a thought

But it would be helpful to know the device. To get the same volts from your 1.5 coil you would be at 13.3 watts Cheers

There is not much point in using low res on VW - it will depend on how the coils are made, but in the main its going to mean less wire around your wick, so slightly less vapour at the same watts.

Are you using the new 'upgraded' heads? If you are replace them with the older Aerotank/Protank3 dual coil heads. The new heads don't wick well at all.
