Hi Guys. after watching numerous video's on YouTube on builds for the Tobh Atty I noticed they were using 24g kanthal A1 wire for there coils, I decided to buy some Kanthal A1 Heat Resistance Wire - 0.5mm (500 Micron or 24 AWG) but not sure how many wraps I'd need around a 2.4mm micro screw driver for a 1ohm dual coil set up, can anyone give me an helping hand, please...

Wrong wire bud, you'll never get the ohms that low with that wire, dual coils of say 10 wraps each is still way down around 0.1-0.2 ohms. For what you want I'd highly recommend something like the 0.32mm or 0.34mm.

Albi61, you'll have to experiment, really. Somewhere, Super-Shiny posted a chart of wire sizes, coil diameters and resistance. I'll let you do the legwork to find it though

Albi61 I made my first dual coil with 0.5mm wire recently on a 3mm drill bit. 10 wraps of 0.5mm 3mm dia =1.0 Ohm, dual coil = 0.5 Ohm For a 1 Ohm dual coil 2.4mm dia you'd need a whopping 24/25 wraps.

I'll give this a go & see where it takes me, never too old to learn, oh well! The trouble is when you have rip trippers quoting 24 gauge kanthal, our measurements for Kanthal is totally different to the Yanks.

Just use the chart www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=guide_awg_to_metricIt's american wire gauge and 24G is around 0.5mm but it's serious wire to get dual coils at 1 ohm. This is 9 wraps per coil of the 0.5mm stuff and it's at 0.17 ohms

.5mm is fun as a single coil but it's extreme for dual coil use, probably best For Californian cloud blowing competition use and pure VG juices, not an all day vape. I use it in my genies, single coil on steel rope U wicks, around .5 ohms

Here is a handy calc that can use AWG or metric and you can choose single, duel, triple, quad coil. Just need to fill out the fields and put in target resistance staem engine it has all the other calc's as well, even a juice mixing calc.
