ronaldo Well considering the schools are now closed for summer up here (kids everywhere) and the pissed up guy across the back is mowing his lawn by pulling the mower backwards anticlockwise round the garden i think some of my multi million pound clients might have something to say about the background noise. Hate to do this to you ruffdog, but as day 1 of my unemployment (which I intend to continue until September) I spent most of it in the garden Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ruffdog, Honestly I do feel your misfortune, but as a semi retired old fart, I must admit I have been enjoying the clement weather and overcoming possible dehydration with cold beers in the garden.

Things are looking up, Missus is meeting me in 45 min at the local beer garden. Get in......... if i can make it through the next half hour or so, change, get Rax and lead and briskly walk down the hill I should have a cold Heaverlee waiting for me. Result. Honestly though, It's a right bugger when him over there decides him and his mates are going to get pissed up and start screaming at each other. It's not even him, it's the vodie bottle swinging tramp who canny leave him alone.

ruffdogI am home based 2-3 days a week out on the road 2 - 3 days a week, people don't understand working from home until they've tried it for extended periods, I've been doing this job 10 years now and working from home even though you spend time on the phone talking to people it can be quite lonely. It's not practical for me to move out of the office. Believe me i've tried, no wi-fi signal in the garden, wind blowing your paperwrk about and just when you're on an important call a neighbours dog or kids starts barking! (dog not kids!). If I could get out on the road for 4 days a week and 1 day at home it would be great but with such a large amount of follow ups to do with customers, research, design & quoting alas I have to be here for extended periods. Still, I tend to do a bit then have a quick look at the forum type a post then back to work like I am going to do right now! Oh yeah and you tend to work long hours as well I started at 7:30 this morning and will not probably finish till 6pm, sometimes I work till 7 but try to not make it longer than that. Gotta go, phone's ringing!

DiscoDesFair enough. Yeah some people just think you can stop and fart about all day don't they (not anyone on here btw, just general folk) I'm Mon - Thursday myself and off Fridays BUT i tend to still do some processing on a Friday if any enquiries come through so the guys down south get them before the week end. In one of my old houses i made the storage cupboard my Office and it had no window Boy i tried to use a laptop and do work on the living room table and it just didn't work. I'm sure you know what I mean. I also have this urge to finish up any emails and stuff in the evening. If i get bored or behind I'll do emails at 9 or 10 pm, whatever. or 7am. Doesn't matter as long as they get sent lol It is good though, I got to get a puppy 5 years ago only because i got a home working job. I can work in my pants (if i wanted) I can make a coffee and have a fag (ooooops I mean VAPE now) whenever i feel like it. The commute is the only killer. I have to go downstairs to get my morning coffee AND THEN back up stairs to the office. what a bummer. !!!!!! But i do walk around with the walkabout phone just to let the cats / dog out etc as i never know when the boss will call. When I don't >> (It's always when i go to the toilet, i could put money on it) Toby PS: Times UP. Off to shove some combats on and grab vape n dog. Missus just called and she is 15 min out from pub.

Up til two hours ago my day was carp. Spent most of my day laying on my back in a chicken shed, getting pecked and laying in 3 inches of shite changing motors on the feed belts. Temp in the shed hit 32 but I couldn't stop work. Stop feeding chicks and they stop laying!! If only it had been an electric fence I was called in for

I've just spent the last hour or so messing about with my bank accounts online. Closed some, opened some, transferred money between them etc. In the morning, when I'm sober, I MAY realise what I've done... at the moment it made sense. Old age doesn't come alone... but WTH you can't take it with you!
