Hi all, new member here. tried vaping about a year ago, got on ok due to a mate who took it very seriously. All was going well started off E-rolls, progressed through hand now have an E-Vic (I think that's right ) with a Kanger pro tank mk2, as well as a Viva Nova. so all was going ok, then things got a bit out of hand. I can only describe it as a "brain freeze" or some kind of seizure!! i would stop breathing, and quite literally loose the ability to think just for a few seconds. So as you might imagine I haven't touched it since (about 6 months now). i've looked all over for anything anyone else may have experienced but nothing, so for the first time I'm going to ask publicly. If anyone might have any clue as to what I have a reaction to it would be very much appreciated. i've read in places before that some people react to PG but there is so little info about it, I've got nowhere. Vaping was a godsend and I want desperately to start again but, I need to identify why this happens. Mikey...

Have you gone back to tobacco?
Do you get the same symptoms if you smoke tobacco?

Hiya Mike, welcome to AAEC, hope we can help. Not sure what you issue is, probably need more info? tbh theres loads that happens with the body when you quit fags so its all dependant on time since you quit and what you vaped on. Never come across anything like you are mentioning before - anywhere on line!

tbh a reaction to pg tends to develop over time and its more a rash and spots and maybe a little breathlessness? We have 8 or 9 members who vape at 100% vg as have had mild reactions to pg, but nothing like you are mentioning

to AAEC madmike Strange one there. Then again, I get brain dead most days Seriously though, did you go and see your gp? Might have been something to do with nic withdrawal, blood pressure or I guess something actually in the ejuice. I'd have gone to the docs before giving up mind. Are you back on the fags? Does it still happen? Ruffie

madmike - hmm, that is indeed strange. My first uneducated guess would be that it is nothing to do with nicotine, as you were formerly (still?) a smoker, so your system was used to regular nic top-ups. PG, as mentioned above ^^^ usually manifests itself as breathlessness and spots or a rash, and I don't recall ever having read about this sort of reaction. I wonder if it was your body protesting at the lack of all the other chemicals found in tobacco, rather than anything else. Blood Pressure is another possibility - I had a sudden rise in my BP after giving up the fags, and indeed am now on medication for the same. This showed syptoms about 4 weeks after giving up, and is now completely under control. I think a visit to your GP is in order, and ask for the complete set of tests - blood sugar, thyroid, liver and kidney function, as well as a BP test. Do you experience any other symptoms as well, and are they ongoing or sporadic? I won't say more, otherwise it may sound as though I know what I am talking about, but this is based on my own personal experiences in the last 18 months or so Hope it helps!

Welcome madmike, well you seem to be one of a kind there, is it possible that it had nothing to do with ecig and was caused by another change you made at the same time?

Hi all and thanks for your answers.
i had on occasion head bit of a "rush of blood to the head type feeling", but nothing quite on that scale. it came at a point when I had more or less stop smoking, and yes I'm still smoking now! And yep I hate it!!!! this reaction would happen just a few seconds after vaping, and no I was not on any other meds or other changes in habit.
sounds like a trip to my GP is in order then, although I'm sure its something in the liquid that causes it but damned if I want to experiment to find out!
Once again thanks for your thoughts everyone.
Mikey.

Hi madmike welcome to the forum. Ive never heard of anything like that happening to a vaper. Like others have said, go and see your doc. It may be a totally unrelated problem, and if so you should let the doctor try to get to the bottom of it.
