Save hijacking leo 's thread I though I would start my own if that's OK with you guys? leo ronaldo and any other new mixers, please feel free to join in! This gonna be a fun ride. Maybe even get wibble to chime in.lol so to my thread !!! First things first. This is what I have so far. 100ml 72mg PG nic base, 200ml VG ( boots ), 100ml PG. 10ml peanut butter TPA, 10ml DK Baccy TPA Menthol crystals and some lemon Belbake food flavouring. 10ml bottles from empties. Campden tablets and metabysulphate powder for sterilising ( ex beer making supplies) Syringes and needles. Sonic bath for possible speed steeping! Vape, tanks, cargo and dripper! OK......... 1st Questions: drips/drops. . . I understand we work on 30 drips /ml from usual bottles. Correct? What do you measure your nic base with? Do you decant into another bottle eg 30ml with drip tip or use a dropper / pipette? Or just syringe it out? Concentrates. .. Start at what %age? I've read anything from 2% for tobaccos to people upping 20%. That's a massive difference!! What about size of mix? Start at say 5ml or maybe even 1ml total mix ( is that enough for a test batch) When to test / how best to test. Dripper, or a small clearo. What about silica muting flavours! And last for this post. Nic level and pg/VG ratios. Is one better to start with? Dripping 18mg is getting very harsh for me, in fact I've just put some JJ bananas n cream in the pro tank. It's 60/40 1.8%. Nice thick vape at 7watts but still hurting my throat. Maybe it is the nic that is hurting me and not the high 80/20 corner shop / garage juices PG ratio. Again how different would one find say dropping to 10% or even 6%? Would it massively help reduce throat hit and harshness altogether? Would certainly make 72mg nic go a loooooooong way. Hope this isn't too much to ask in a starter post but if you don't ask yah don't get. Peace all Ruffie

Nice idea ruffdog all us newbies together So far I have only done the easy stuff, 30ml of Red Astaire & 30ml of VampVape Both concentrates direct from t-juice, just add nic base, PG & VG to suit, and it worked VERY well, I now have all the concentrates I wanted and will (one day soon) have a mammoth mixing session, I dont do tobacco flavours so I'll be going along a totally different line to yourself. But whatever happens... lets have fun

Hope this isn't too much to ask in a starter post but if you don't ask yah don't get. Peace all Ruffie If i use drops I work at 28 drops per ml, but 30 is a decent average to work from. I decant my nic base into a 30ml bottle to use for mixing if using drops. If I am mixing larger amounts than 5-10ml then I use a syringe straight from the original bottle. (as a side note I decant my Nic base into glass bottles and keep them in the freezer) Starting with 5ml mixes is a good idea until you get to gauge the flavour you are using. I test my mixes in Evods, usually just by half filling it. If I like it then it goes into a RBA, if not it goes back in cupboard to be tried at a later date or forgotten about. You can test your juice anyway you like. I don't drip as I don't really like dripping. Dropping nic level definitely results in less throat hit in my opinion. I used to vape 18mg and now vape 11mg and the throat hit difference is noticeable. Throat hit can depend on the flavouring also. Cinnamon red hots or Nosferatu for example will add throat hit even to zero nic juice. Hope that helps. Good luck and welcome to the world of culinary vaping

DON'T GET TOO HUNG UP ON BEING ABSOLUTELY PRECISE! That said I don't use drops... too many variables in "viscoussness" size of tip so size of drop on concentrate bottle etc. I use a 1ml syringe for Concentrates A 10 ml Syringe for nic bases A 20ml Syringe for VG/PG with a tube instead of a needle Mixing a larger amount is more "forgiving" than mixing 5 or 10 mlMixing RA from concentrate I just use a graduated measure glass for a cookware shop the only syringe I use is the 50ml one and it only takes me about 1 minute to mix 2 x 35ml bottles that last me 2 weeks. Speed Mixing may be included in future Olympic games! It's so quick! Into the glass:- 1. Add RA conc straight from RA bottle 2. Add Nic Base - straight from bottle 3. Add VG (I like to get near 50/50) - straight from bottle 4. Suck up into 50ml syringe which mixes it at the same time and then just expell onto my dispensing bottles. Job Done!
