How odd is that when it is Sweden that has the snus as a legal freely available product, yet e-cigs only to be medication. Something don't sound right to me.

Well, it's possible that the Snus market has lobbied the Swedish govt as they are worried about their market share dwindling toots - it's undoubtedly politics. The question is will they ban it? The argument has shifted in this country in recent months, let's hope it's enough.

If a EU ban does happen, I guess we'll have 1.3M more people calling for an EU exit.

Google translate the article July 17, 2014 at 18:04, Updated: July 17, 2014 at 18:10 A ruling of the administrative law establishes that e-smokes should be treated with drugs that must be approved before sale.
- We will continue our oversight will result in more sales ban when the judgment becomes final, says Martin Burman, investigators at the MPA.
In October last year, the MPA on sale ban on one of the biggest players in the market. The decision was appealed, and while the Administrative Court considered the issue could continue sales and new outlets popped up.
Now reject administrative law firm appeal. Court believes that e-cigarettes with nicotine is considered as drugs, giving the MPA tool to regulate sales.
- We have good track of the major importers and will turn to import. Municipalities are able to do oversight of sales in small shops.
MPA hope that the ban will lead to a new safer product coming to market.
- They sold today are neither proven safe or effective. We believe that e-smokes are a great way for smoking cessation but then it must first get an approved product.
Not that's it's very good or very clear

Off topic: Thanks babs I've noticed that when I insert formatting (in that case Quote) after inserting a link I sometimes loose the MyBBCode for the URL.... I normally remember to check afterwards but was a little two incensed (and distracted by a conversation about root vegetables and variants therein). On topic is worrisome although it would be naive to have thought otherwise.

I don't understand, does this mean that e-cigs are now basically banned from sale in Sweden as of now? Could it happen here soon? should we be worried? "Lock the windows and doors love." - "What about the cat?, the cats outside." *loads shotgun* "It's too late for the cat, guard the juice. Things are about to go Tarantino style up in here." - "Think your overreacting a bit." "Erm, what are you doing with that?!" - "Just having a vape, sweetheart." "Put the MVP down. PUT..IT..DOWN!." - "All right, all right. Calm down." "Go find the cat." - "But you said leave the cat outside..." "JUST GET OUT!" lol Sorry got a bit carried away there

Under the upcoming UR Tobacco Product Directive (TPD) if 3 countries implement med regs on e-cigs the EU can implement them on the whole EU and Sweden was the third country to do this. So it could be very very bad, as there no e-cig that have medical approval and nothing that we would like will ever get it.
