Hi peeps, my magneto caravela & nemesis (clone) have stopped firing All within the space of a day....help!!! I know my taifun gt had a short on it when I tried firing on the caravela ( got those batteries out quick lol ) but can't for the life of me figure out why these are all not working?? Stripped them all down to component parts, cleaned and rebuilt so unless its possible for the coating to lose its conductivity I'm lost My fluke is at home so will pick up another multi meter from work on mon to aid with diagnostics but is their anything else?? cheers guys arron

You sure it's not the atty rather than the mod's?
Have you tried other batteries?

Sounds like you could have wrecked your batteries to me, or blown the coils in your atties

I've got several atties built up, all work fine on my other mods and I've tried several batteries be it 18350s or 18650s doesn't make a difference still not firing Will pick up a fluke on mon which will hopefully make things easier

Make sure all the connections are clean and juice free on the mods. It's unlikely to be mech mod at fault as they are virtually indestructible. For 3 to stop working has to be something else.

Coating? No coating should be present - you're not cleaning the threads with something odd like Brasso (which leaves a film), are you? Mind you, that will only reduce conductivity / increase resistance. I'm assuming that you've allowed to dry ('cause it's obvious, but it's the obvious that catches us out, right...) Are you certain there's no short? Do the batteries heat when you try and fire? Maybe restrip the switches and see if anything jumps out the second time? One big damn puzzler (which is also the name of a brilliant novel). I fear a multimeter is going to be your friend come Monday.

why did you build the whole taifun without checking for shorts first ? Ive never owned a taifun only Kayfuns but surely to god you check resistance/hot spots/shorts etc before putting the whole atty together anyway my guess would be that youve killed the magnets in the switches

anyway my guess would be that youve killed the magnets in the switches At risk of diverging the thread, wouldn't that just have damaged the repelling force which holds the connectors apart and thus cause a continuous fire (or at least a very easy fire) ?

I've found that I make my biggest mistakes when high (not that kind of)... I skip the basic checks through overconfidence. I guess the same applies when...

do you have a tank o meter thingy? if so try that and see if it shows up a voltage then if that works it must be the atomizers but you have a few and all dont work, hmmm confusing
