Of all the countries this should happen to! There has got to be some leeway surely or do they think (like dear old Bill Shankly) that sport is more important than life or death. I can't believe the organisers can be so insensitive. Rules are there for bending in exceptional circumstances. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/shooting/28418330I didn't intend to follow it anyway, and I certainly won't now.

I would imagine it is a specific shooting jacket Raffles and not being worn as a fashion statement "It is really painful for her," said team manager Musa Omar. "The rules clearly state that a rifle shooter must wear a jacket. "We tried to borrow one but it did not fit her. We tried to make a new one but she said that she would need two months to get used to it." Must be something if it takes you 2 months to get used to wearing it

I have worn them they are very stiff and mould to your body over time they are very very uncomfortable when new and when worn in you don't know you have it on when a shooter gets a new one they wear it 14 hours a day to wear it in some have even been known to sleep in them to get them supple

If it's that important I'd have worn it on the plane rather than stuffing it in my luggage

Looks like I've 'shot myself in the foot' then (if you'll pardon the pun). It just came across as being so unfair, especially with it being a Malaysian competitor. Couldn't they have given her more time to track it down ???

No , sounds fair to me , as it applys to everyone , once you start bending rules for just one person it will lead to mayhem !
