Best Kayfun Ohms for Custard?

Hi everone, well ive had my kayfun for just over a week and a bit (thanks again Geordie_vaper) It came with 1ohm coil and wick done by Matt, i tested it and loaded it up with Digbys Custard, good vapour but funky taste not really bad just not great, bit chemically, so stripped it down after the tank was empty, washed it thoroughly, rebuilt it at 1.8ohm microcoil & cotton, great vapour again but taste is just so well weird, not very custard like, bit chemically again (the digbys has been steeping for about 3 weeks and smells lovely)

So do you think i just need to drop the ohms down to about 1.4 / 1.5 / 1.6 its on a mech mod without kick? Any ideas? ive had no dry hits and no leaks, so dont think it's down to the build? Could it just be the juice or could it be the ohms or even the kayfun still needs more cleaning? (not that i doubt Geordie_vaper has already done this)

There is no right answer to the question 'what ohms?' - other than 'whatever tastes best'
First question though, have you tried the custard in another atty and found the taste to be ok?

OneDay only in a Tobh dripper, and it wasn't that impressive to be fair, i have tried another juice in the Tobh and it was spot on, so i guess it could be the juice! i have been doing some mooching about trying to find what ohm's peoples have been using as everyone say's kayfuns=flavour and so far all i have had is kayfuns=vapour & not much custardy flavour so thought maybe i was too low or too high etc? What do people think? Cheers everyone

From what you describe I wouldn't think it was down to the resistance of the coil. When I first got mine I used 1.5 coils and the flavour was good. As I got used to making a good wick for it I dropped the resistance to 0.8 - 0.9 and the flavour increased with the vapour production.
Are you sure your not getting the flavour of a slightly dry hit? You can get a bit of a burnt cotton flavour if its not wicking fast enough.
Im sure its been cleaned a number of times before you got it so I cant see it being machine oil left inside from production.

Take a look at the video I posted here link myself and a number of others make our wicks the same way as this and it works very well. I know decoy uses this method with a 0.5 Ohm coil successfully.

Thanks for that hijack, i'll give it a go, i'll start afresh with a new 1.5 ish microcoil & cotton and try that wicking technique, see if that makes a difference . i'll drop back onto this tread with my feedback. Thanks again

As said Bad taste in kayfuns is generally a poor wicking issue, took me quite a while to get it right with cotton wool but you'll know once you do

parallel duel coil at .8 ohm is lush using that wicking method or you could try a twisted coil

I had an experiment a few weeks back where I knocked up a 3.1ohm 3mm twisted microcoil and to be honest the flavour was spot on.

replaced it with a 4mm 1ohm coil last night and it's no where near as tasty.. going to rip it out tonight and go high ohms again.

Right then peoples, followed all your advice and watched the video Hijack linked in again & again. New microcoil at 1.4oms, 1st attempt - no success too little wick and burning taste grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Then empty and rewick with cotton as in the video looked like a shed load of cotton but did as the video, messed, poked prodded, juiced up and WHAM!! Success Triphammers Fizzy Trifle @ 1.4ohm amazeballs, NOW I GET IT!! everyone
