CLEANING! (Worst thread title ever.)

How do you all clean your coils, drip tips and coils?  Warm water?  Alcohol?  Can coils even be cleaned (not DIY ones)?

I'm going to have to attempt it at some point this weekend...

Easiest way is to drop then in a cup of water with a denture tablet for a couple of hours then rinse and leave to dry overnight after patting dry. Or if you use silica wick you can dry burn the coils to burn all the juice crud off them.

What atty coils are you wanting to clean ?

I have a couple of protank 2s and an iclear 16b. And a non-descript bargain basement job which was in the clearance section of one of the sites I ordered from.

Not familiar with the 16b but you can use either of the above methods for the protank two coils.

Denture tablet option is probably easiest if your not familiar with taking them apart

If you don't have any tablets bicarb can be used in the same fashion, pick up some cheap tablets next time your at the supermarket, cheap and cheerful is fine

I usually rinse all the bits under warm water then do a dry burn same as the guy on this video (silica wick only). If its a home made micro coil with cotton, you take the cotton out first, do the dry burn, then thread a new piece of cotton through the coil.

i clean my drip tips and tanks and coils with my ultrasonic cleaner and some warm water and clean my mods with brasso and some elbow grease

For a new user the denture tablet is easiest any unflavoured one will do or bicarb a spoonful in a cup is enough. Later you will learn how to dryburn and recoil and all the rest kitty778 but later is good enough just enjoy.

a tip for you dont use washing up liquid i used it once never again had to throw the coil and wicks out took about 3 days soaking in denture tablet also about 5 goes in the ultrasonic cleaner i had gold and silver e liquid with a hint of lemon soapy bubbles

For the new Bvc nautilus coils and the bdc coils that are not rebuilt I have a half full jar with 80% alcohol in
Rinse coils under tap then drop them in the alcohol overnight give em a swish whenever your near ( I keep near the kettle) after 24 hours take out rinse and leave to dry.
Its like a new coil again. ( even got rid of peanut butter flavour juice )
