Hello Wexford! I wouldn't worry myself . . . just embrace your new healthier addiction. Give yourself a pat on the back I'd say. I'm going to move your thread to the New Member's Board, where you're likely to get more Member's thoughts.

Hi Wexford, well done for giving up the ciggies I get asked all the time, well when are you going to give up the e-cig?? my answer is always the same, im not I have given up smoking which was a huge hurdle for me, feel alot healthier and don't smell like a dirty ashtray anymore I know what would happen if i even tried to give it up, after a few weeks i'd be back to spending £6 plus on a pack of fags Do you want to give up vaping? or are you under pressure to do so? Bel x

You could try gradually reducing the nicotine strength you're vaping by diluting your chosen juice witha zero nic version. You don't say what e-ciggy you are using? If you're using something like a Riva, Ego or tornado, or stick type it will be easy to do. if you;re using a cig-a-like with prefilled cartridges it may be more difficult.

Hello & welcome from me as well Irishwexford Perpy is right. Does it really matter that you have swapped one addiction for another - especially as you say you are feeling so much healthier & you have saved a lot of money

I agree with you ladies but i can also see the want to use vaping as a stepping stone to quitting - next time you buy your juice buy some 0 nic of the same flavour - every time you fill a cart whack a little of the 0 nic into your normal nic bottle - before you know it you will be on 0 nic then when you have the cig craving no more it's all about letting go of the PV Edit: I really should learn to read replies sorry des lol

hi irishwexford a warm welcome to the forum and a huge congrats on giving up the fags. i really enjoy vaping and am in no rush to give it up but if you want to then like the guys have said the first thing to do is to gradually reduce the nicotine level of your juice down... once you are happy with no nicotine then giving up vaping will be simple

Just keep vaping the until you get used to it, then think of a way to quit those if you really want to. You don't want to go through withdraws and then end up smoking analogs again.
Lakr, I've removed your link from your post, which wasn't working anyway. I assume that you are a Supplier so I'm changing your status, I'd also draw your attention to the rules on Supplier's posting which can be found on the Supplier's board.
Thank you.

Well, I hope we've reassured Wexford that there's nothing to be concerned about and given her some good pointers should she want to move on from vaping.

thanks for all your replies. OH pointed out to me that I still have an addiction but is not putting me under any pressure. I am on the lowest strength so am happy to carry on. Its been a very stressful year and the e-cigg has helped so much. I will try the 0 and low strength together after Christmas. I do still use nic gum when I am playing bowls as this helps as well.

Irish, does your OH drink tea or coffee? If so, you can tell him that's an addiction & that low doses of nicotine are most likely less harmful than high doses of caffeine

Well, it sounds like you are being made to feel guilty. Whilst nicotine addiction is not something I would encourage anyone to acquire, once you have it, it is far better to vape than to smoke. Nicotine is addictive, yes, but so is caffeine. Nicotine is toxic, but so is alcohol. Nicotine is pleasurable, so what!

Another thing that is often not mentioned is that sugar is addictive too! Think of all the harm that does, especially in the form of chocolate! I will get my tin hat now!
