Iv noticed on the back of my vamo the chrome affect is wearing and exposing the brass below.
Just wondering what it would look like if i very fine sanded it with a wet and dry 600 grain or somethinf light and polished it up.
Has anyone tried this .
ADvise please

Probably just as easy to stick a wrap over it. They're cheap as chips on fasttech

I used wet and dry mostly, I started off with something coarser but it took forever to get it really flat again so I ended up with wet and dry and Brasso and elbow grease You`ll find you have to go through a layer of copper plating before you get to the brass. I think it must have needed that for the chrome plate to take well when the tubing was made.

When I was doing that, I was one button click away from buying a gold plating kit. I was on the Paypal "buy now" button stage but somehow resisted

The pic above is the one where I was careful to stop at the copper on the tubing, the bottom cap and the buttons were down to brass, as was the top cap the next day

Gimme it I did another one which looked better than that one, it actually got made as a prototype in a chinese factory which got sent to me by the owner of Vaporbreak, it didn`t end up in production, but I was still chuffed to bits. Must dig it out in the morning.
