As the PM I got suggested (not sure if it was compulsory) Just saying hi ;-)
Havent been vaping very long (few months) but already im into making my own juice (that just sounds wrong!), thinking about making my own mod & just about to try my hand at rebuilding coils on my aspire nautilus atty (is that right?...its an atty?)
So I guess you could say ive jumped in with both feet, just waiting for it all to go "pete tong" on me now...;-)
My name is Marcus....but some fecker already had that name so in the true spirit of youngsters these days ive put a deliberate spelling error in my name ;-)
I live in the UK but Im not going to say where as I dont want anyone to know I live in swindon.
Im not a young whipper snapper but then I dont consider myself to be old, Well....depends really some days I feel old but as long as I wake up in the mornings then Im grateful for that, give it a few more years & I'll probubaly have to have a five knuckle shuffle in the mornings just to get my heart started ;-)

Anyway Ive got a metal thing mod that takes an 18650 battery....no idea what it is, I bought it off a mate for £15 (coz im an old tight arse), all i know is its some kind of adjustable thing & its classed as a mech mod ??
Ive also got an Aspire nautilus tank which I bought with a Vision XGUN VV/VW (but after the 3rd one going wrong thats gone back & ive had a refund) & like ive said im just going to re-build the naff coils that came with the nautilus & it looks like its going to be a fiddly job so wish me luck!
So far ive made 4 juices, caramel,orange,pineapple & blueberry with a high VG content & I dont think theyre too bad, but I wont really know until theyve steeped a bit longer (& i usually find myself adding more flavouring so I havent got things quite right yet), although I dont want to buy any good quality pre-made juices as then i'll know my home made ones taste like shit.
As for mod building, one of the XGUNs i had go wrong the vendor let me keep because he didnt want me wasting money sending it back, so ive dismantled it & im thinking of buying one of those hana modz chips things from Fastech & having a go at making something, just hope it doesnt catch fire & literally become its namesake of Xfire!....(ive seen some good building threads on here so I'll be picking peoples brains to make sure I get things right, I love this laser etched dragon thingy & i dont want to ruin it)
Well before you all start pouring petrol over yourselves from reading this boring dribble I think I'll leave it at that....hope to chat to most of you on here soon ;-)

Hihi markus and welcome to the asylum. Good to herar from you. So what kinda liquids you mixing?

Anyways, as far as mods go,if the power or voltage is adjustable it is a VV or VW or VV/VW mod. Mechanical mods have no control over output except battery and coil used. Any questions you have I'm sure we'll be able to answer. If you have mod problems then ronaldo is the man to interrogate. I can help out but only have experience of a few commercial mods and a few I've designed myself.

Welcome markus, sense of humour and willing to give thing's a go, you'll fit right in. Now you tell me home made juice tastes like sh1te I mixed 2.5 litres yesterday, but it taste like the pre mixed to me . Since you have a mech mod research batteries a bit, mainly don't drain them too low, don't use high power (low resistance) coils without knowing that your battery is safe for the load, use a quality charger like Nitecore or Xtar and don't leave them charging unattended (there is a guide here somewhere). Things your not sure of like mod building post a sanity check question and ppl will help. I'm in the process of building a second DNA and can probably help there and there are quite a few others here who know what's what in that area.

IMO you picked the best forum, well done you, even if you deliberately misspelt your name.

Hi thatguy, Ive been using an online calculator for the measurements & I usually make small amounts first just to try & I substitute the nicotine for vodka (not sure if thats the right way?) Ive been using cake shop concentrates atm so it works out around a 60/40 mix like this:

ingredient                     ml      % of total
PG or VG with nicotine  0.8 ml      16.0%
PG or VG                    3.2 ml      64.0%
Flavoring(s)                1.0 ml      20.0%

But I might get some stronger concentrates like lorann to try and get it nearer to 70/30 with a stronger falvour.
Ive no idea what mech mod this is, cant even decipher the writing on it....looks like Grand Vape ??

VapingBad....Sounds like youve been doing this mixing thing alot longer than me, 2.5ltrs!...that would take me a year to use...lol....I havent had any non smokable ones....YET !...but im struggling to taste any flavour sometimes! perhaps because theyre cheap concentrates.
With regards to the mech mod & battery power....bugger!...I never thought about that!....how am i gonna know when the battery gets too low ? Its an Efest IMR 3.7v LI-MN 20mah high drain & im using the aspire nautlius with a 1.8ohm dual coil, but am i right in saying because its dual coil then that drops it down to 0.9ohms ??...or does it mean its got two 3.6ohm coils in it & that makes it 1.8ohms ??
To be honest I only bought the mech mod because I wanted to use the parts for this DNA chip build, with a bit of work I m hoping to make it fit inside the wooden XGUN tube.
At the moment Im using a cheap Ultrafire charger (I never charge overnight & only when Im at home) but I do plan to upgrade to a better one soon, thanks for the recommendation I was wondering which are the better ones to buy.

You have definitely jumped in with both feet, but with the help and information here it should be easy enough to stay afloat.

Hi markus to the forum.

Your certainly diving straight in. One thing you should have is a resistance checker or multi meter to check the coil for shorts. Most people make a few coils that are shorting during their first attempts to recoil and you don't want to put it on your mech and short the battery out.

Check out the guides and 'tutorials section' if you haven't already. There is plenty of relevant advice in there.

Hi and markus you are doing well for just being in a few months. Makes it very easy even I can do it and like you I'm no spring chicken lol. The forum calc and mixology section are really easy too your flavouring usually counts as pg as unless they state otherwise this is the suspension medium. Cupcakeworld do an excellent range very cheaply on Amazon especially the multipacks. Hi and welcome that mech mod is an m16 clone . just be careful of the threads where the Atty 510 connection is as it is made of aluminium, and the Atty is stainless steel.
As you have the nautilus you might want to try the new bvc coils, much better than the bdc coil your using.

The red Efests should be fine at those resistances and your dual coil calculation is correct, here is a link to Hijacks Battery Guide.
