"Don't Vape! - quit for good" is the new advert slogan fom Nicorette advertising their horrid spray.

I just noticed this on a banner ad on a Yahoo site.

So they (finally) see Vaping as a threat now.

Been seeing it everywhere for about a couple of months now DiscoDes buses, shops, pub, tv, on the side of the road. They really are running scared now. Good isn't it

People still don't get it, do they? We don't want to quit nicotine, we just want a safer delivery method. THere is an awful long way to go before Joe Public is well-educated on this, I think!

Local Busses in Fort william have proper stickers n everything next to the no smoking ones. "NO PERSONAL VAPORIZERS" with a cigalike and score through it.

1st i have seen no vaping notices although I really don't get out much lol.

They even have radio adverts as well DiscoDes. Good job the dentist had her hand in my mouth or the language might not have been very nice.

I have a similar standpoint.

 Vaping is an alternative to smoking, not a replacement for it. Although many vapers do so in an attempt to quit smoking and are successful in doing so. Vaping is not designed to be a smoking cessation aid and should not be regulated as a pharmaceutical aid to quit nicotine as that is not vaping's purpose or design.

We also need to educate the politicians who can make the decision to regulate Vaping products too.

They are two different products, but Nicorette is a business and is clearly losing money to vaping. Not surprising to see them fight back, in fact I take heart from it - it means that more and more people are taking the vaping route to smoking abstinence, rather than the route that contains hydrochloric acid

If Joe Public being educated on vaping is what we are waiting for then we will be waiting forever.
There will always be those that are against it simply because they do not like or approve of it even if its proven to be completely harmless.

We are never going to wake up and all the bullshit has suddenly vanished over night.
It will never be socially acceptable like smoking was in its hey day.

As for the Nicorette ad its been doing the rounds for about 6 months now and why is it surprising or upsetting that they are trying to protect their business?

They sell products that haven't worked for many of us and we don't like, so what?

Just like vaping vendors, as long as it is legal for them to do so then they will do all they can to protect & increase profits.

Its business.

Haven't they heard of the law of unintended consequences? Smoker sees ad, thinks "Don't vape... what's vape?" and googles vape. Buys vaping gear out of curiosity. "It looks better than that nicorette rubbish"
