That looks genuinely awesome. Any major difficulties with the construction?

Almost done.... wasn't happy with the window/frame so still deciding what to do with that and it needs a good polish up. But here it is working so far. (still have to drill vent holes yet which I nearly forgot about in the rush to see it working). size comparison with Provari 18500 and 18650. On with making a charging stand to match now.. That's the best box mod I've seen so far

Wow. VB tagged me and I missed the notification - my bad. I've been following this thread anyways. Nice work Mev. Love the idea of the charging stand too. Really your attention to the detail is outstanding Also glad you sorted the windows issue

Thanks guys.. That looks genuinely awesome. Any major difficulties with the construction? Not really no, it was pretty straight forward. I didn't do any real planning as such I just knew I want a trim top and bottom and walnut body and just went along from there. If I was to start again there would probably be a couple of things done differently but that's the same with any project I suppose. I kept it as small as poss and it was quite a squeeze to get everything in.

Liking the base charger as for the screen surround am sure you could still inlay a 2mm thick piece in there nice and flush.

I've trimmed the original frame down and fitted that lol I got bored so did a bit more and milled out the back too. lol Just to drill for the Fibre optic/led's then sand and polish the base and fit everything in.

It just wouldn't be feasible prr as i've put too many hours into it. I am still thinking of converting my Mill into a CNC and if I do that would make it more probably to do stuff like this for sale though. It would be a couple of months off though if I did. Short answer = not right now no. lol

LoL aint that the truth mate. someone asked earlier what finish I used for the wood but I couldn't remember the name. Chestnut friction polish www.axminster.co.uk/chestnut-friction-polish , it gives a really good finish by hand but a really high gloss if used on wood in a lathe.
