And also Roscopecotrain don't fill your tank to the max else you get a burnt taste... Like I said mega thin wick of the above and like 60/40. Change wick every tank or so. Don't get any of the wick either in the tank threads or in the centre post hole (otherwise you won't be able to get the tank on) Sorted

Just dry burnt the coil as there was a lot of crud on my wick. Rewicked using thin needle almost thickness wick and used again... Mix of 60/40 PG/VG Not infinitely short wicks out of the cap holes but not long either. Make sure wicks don't either get down centre post or in threads Sorted

This is very hit and miss with me and the taifun GS clone... When I get it wicked well tis fab.....when not tis horrid Went back to 60/40 and a thin wick the other week - now on 70/30 and a thick wick Sure I'll get there in the end but am remembering to prime my wicks which is crucial!!!

One thing that can cause the metallic taste is the swollen wick not touching the entire coil. When it comes to cotton, "less is more" refers to density of the cotton (keep it fluffy). Not sure if that helps. (must get a good Taifun GT clone... I have one but no matter how I build it, it dumps juice are a while (with old and then new o'rings). I keep going back to it because the taste is fantastic when it's working.
No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

@johanino only just seen this thread so apologies if you`ve sorted the GS out, but if not this Taifun GS manual may help. With example one I use cotton in a micro coil and then the SS mesh through the two holes in the wick lid/plate and have no issues at all. Griff

@johanino when you say you don`t like using ss mesh is that as a wick, which I`m also not that keen on.
However, the way it is used in the GS is to act as a drip feeder to the wick, (cotton), and coil so the ss mesh is just used to stop the GS flooding and getting dry hits.

So there's no coiling involved? I need pennies. Does it work well? I might seriously have to try this Thanks Griff

Found my micro coiling needle (is narrower in diameter than my other needles). Shoved some cotton in it like example one. then SS mesh just poking through the holes So sorted lets hope it lasts all day And we are so sorted Thanks Griff. Sure the ss mesh can be reused. Took me long enough to roll it LOL. No flooding and no dry hits. Have micro coil by the way on the cotton I will keep folk updated

Glad it now seems sorted @johanino I use my GS on top of a mini nemesis in 14500 mode and it looks quite good. I use 60PG/40VG in all my vaping gear. Griff

I did a dumb thing yesterday Changed my coil and my wick and then couldn't get my tubes in (mesh tubes) so made new ones. then squashed them and wondered why taifun was varying between flooding and dry burnt... When I realised it was oh so easily fixed LOL. They are called tubes not sticks Griff

@johanino squashing round things flat isn`t a good way to go I only change the ss mesh wicks once a month as they are only used to drip feed the wick. If you carefully pull the wick/lid plate off you should be able to leave the ss mesh wicks in place so you can change cotton. Griff
