Am using grahams cellucotton cotton wick
Just tastes like it's not soaked it...sort of cottonny if that makes sense?
Haven't got any silica.....what would folk recommend on a microcoil?

Did you give the new tank a thorough clean Jane?
Not got a Taifun, but in a Kayfun you need quite a bit more rayon than cotton.

This doesn't help you much Jane, but I had all sorts of trouble with mine not wicking. The holes were too small so they restricted the flow of juice to the coil. To solve this, the following have worked for other people:
1mm silica feeders through the holes, with cotton wick through a 2mm microcoil. Don't build this with too low ohms, or it won't wick quick enough. Recommend aiming for 1.5 ohms-ish.
Mesh feeders through the holes to a fluffed up cotton microcoil.
Spheroid set-up with filler, and get rid of the coil cap completely! Can use silica or cotton for the wick.

Maybe cleaning out the tank and not chain vaping for a wee while would help
Got the cellucotton (cotton) going right now. Cotton balls were a disaster LOL
Cleaned out tank....maybe a huge difference and maybe adding more PG?

changing PG concentration did help (less VG more PG because PG is thinner than VG so wicks easier) but might need more tweaking ....here's hoping I can get it sorted...
thanks guys

My tank threads were ok, but there are several different versions of the clone. You can get a ss tank here: www.whitefog.co.uk/en/taifun-gs/404-taifun-gs-tank-cover-stainless-steel.htmlBut someone may have one they don't use that they can send you in the classifieds. It's ideal for spheroiding!

I put lip balm on it for now ionian....seems to have helped but initial fill was a nightmare... Anyone else having probs with sometimes it firing and sometimes it not? I don't know if I'm drawing on it wrong or what? I have just about gotten over it wobbling in the vtr by playing with the centre pin. Bad taste has gone. Changed my PG/VG ratio to 70/30 from 60/40. Sorted

the wick is looking fragile after a couple of days but seriously none of that 'can't get it to wick' probs.... Just give it good soak pre assembly when put in new wick.... don't over fill first time otherwise tank won't go on....in fact don't over fill full stop Not in a rush for an SS tank.....lip balm is my friend Och and unlike things that need needles to refill this one doesn't so make sure you have baby wipes to hand

Still having a few probs. Some days it floods, somedays it doesn't wick. Am persisting. Mainly sticking with my 'on the thin side' strands of cellucotton cotton with it and bunging up the watts. Have gotten tissues for out and about just in case (don't exactly want to spray Jones and his mate with e-liquid at a bus stop LOL) This is all part of the normal process for me with a new tank. Not worried. Will get there. Can last for ages!!!! Also finding tank has to be screwed on firmly as does top cap otherwise floods... And don't like medium wicks as in original video for this I found as they just get tangled in threads or come off in tank. Best stick with about 5mm or less above top cap. No tangling

If the cap and tube need screwing on firmly, it might be that you could replace the o-rings on the tank connections to get a better seal. This should solve some of the problems - I've had several atties give me issues because of an insufficient seal.
At least it sounds as though you have the wicking working well - I just got so many dry hits with mine...

What diameter of o-rings do I need then cos there is (or was) a firm not far from me (swan seals) that can sell custom o-rings to fit... Really the wicking (even flooding) is the easy part. Changed mix from 60/40 PG/VG to 70/30 and thinned out the wick. Used a long piece of cotton off a cellucotton box and made my ends into points. When I first thread the microcoil and put the cylinder on I soak my wick and push it in a bit (not always necessary) - tend to find a crochet hook works best for this and a needle syringe. then put the top cap on taking time, and also easing it down the cotton wool gently and slowly till it's on... Trim wicks....sorted
