I love it zedsdead and would copy it if I had any thinner tanks.

I seriously considered putting a DNA in one, but eventually made a smaller aluminium box as I wanted the screen and buttons on the side.

that is a laptop battery rated at 6A so you need to be careful with that battery and with it not having a circuit board for protection I wouldn't use that battery in there but nice job mate

i was in two minds about showing it,thanks for your support.
it was made as a prototype, one day i put a protank 3 and a battery in there and wondered.
ronaldo you do know battries, how could you tell it was out of a laptop from that crappy picture?
next one is a tin about the size of a pack of cards in it should be a battery, a spare battery, a squape, and an isolator all being well.

Haha! I thought the same, ended up using a USB charger taped to the battery as a temp solution, 6 months later still works a treat.

The other idea (I read some where) is just have magnets one the end of the leads to connect to the battery and you could encase the board in Sugru.

when you work with batteries all the time you get to recognise them I can tell a battery from a mile off

and I do know laptop batteries

nothing wrong with them in the right things but they do need some protection so I wouldn't use them in there

Are you using the sugru as a heatsink , or just for its beautiful sticky, mouldable qualies. I love the stuff! I have a 100g lump of black to make a mod out of. Big black rubber mod, a little dream of mine.

It wouldn't make a good heat shrink (insulators & conductors tend to be the same for heat and electrics), you could make a nice smal mod , but I like swappable batteries so would need a skeleton.  I did toy with the idea of making a skin for my small DNA, but I had no conference I could do a neat enough join.  I need more practice with it as I always get too much in my finger prints and can't get a good finish, I know I should use water and have smoothed it down with wet and dry fixing phones and a Kindle.

oogoo looks interesting, silicone caulk and corn starch?
