I've lost loads of weight since I started vaping. What with buying mods, atties and concentrates I can no longer afford to eat.

lols
I'm going to buck the trend here as I have put on about 3/4 of a stone since giving up the stinkies, however as this took my BMI out of the underweight and into the normal range for the first time in my adult life this probably isn't a bad thing. Cigarettes are an appetite suppressant and vaping doesn't seem to have the same effect on me - I am definitely eating more.
Other health effects is a funny one, in all honesty I don't feel a whole lot different to when I smoked. I never used to get massively out of breath when exercising or walking etc so its probably hard to tell. What I have noticed is I get ill a whole lot less - I used to spend at least 4 months of the year with an unshiftable cold, since I moved to vaping I have barely had a sniffle

Well I'm sat here at 12.15am with a glass of red wine at hand, not really noticing any effects of my 21-mile ride today. If you had said to me 4 weeks ago that I would be covering that sort of distance I would have laughed in your face (politely, of course). I have definitely put on weight since I gave up smoking, but I can't, hand on heart, categorically say that that was as a result of the quitting, or just my age and sedentary occupation. It is for this reason that I decided to do something about my weight over the summer. Interesting what dreamylittledream says about colds etc. I used to get a steady stream of colds over the winter as a result of snotty-nosed kids wiping their noses with their hands and then playing the keyboard - eeurgh! I only had one cold last winter, and it was a minor one in comparison - a lucky coincidence, or more immune system in place due to lack of nasties in my body? - your call. The happy drugs (endorphins) seem to be still buzzing around even 12 hours after finishing my ride - I definitely am going to keep this up, and my wife has promised that the proceeds of a car-boot we are going to do soon can go towards upgrading my £20 bike to something a bit more cutting edge - talk of disc brakes, cleated cycling shoes and 48/38/28 front sets - mumbo-jumbo to me!!!

I'm all too familiar with the snotball syndrome chykensa. Been hit by every cold and flu around when I smoked. But now my immune system seems to shrug off the kiddie bugs with no problem. As far as fitness and activity goes, wear a pedometer for a day teaching and you'll be in for a shock, especially if you are a hands on practical teacher like myself. I cover over 20km a day at work, perhaps because I never sit and always circulate among the minions, sorry, pupils.

I cover an average of 30 miles a day, but unfortunately most of that is in my car!! I a peripatetic music teacher; when I'm teaching samba to a class I'm on my feet all the time, but teaching keyboard or drums I'm usually sitting down, as typically there isn't room for me to stand up and walk around as I teach!

Then give Mike Mangini type drum demos and you'll burn a days calories in about 2 minutes. But seriously, use a pedometer for a week. The ground you cover will amaze you. Even the regular walking from one pupil to the next adds up over the week as I' sure you know. I can only hope the music curriculum and education is better in Ingerland than up here in thistletown. No thought about what kids like here just...you gonna learn this pop song and who cares what you like or wanna play

I'm so glad it was you Ronaldo! I was having real trouble with mental images and trying to think of a clean reply,,,, its the way I was dragged up my mother always said to me if you think it you may as well say it so I never hold back I always speak my mind
it certainly toughened me up as I got into a lot of bother as a child but I don't think it ever did me any harm
and I have never ever backed down from anything and never will but that is me so I know sometimes my reply's are close to the knuckle but I think people have worked me out quite well on here I am always up for a laugh just ask dagl

I feel much fitter and less wheezy. One thing I have noticed was I always thought I had a funny appetite. Some weeks I'd eat well then other weeks I'd hardly eat anything. If I went for a meal I'd always think there was too much food and leave a lot.
Since then I eat normally like others. I rarely leave food and my appetite is constant rather than going with some weeks and without on others. I don't tend to put on weight which is fortunate for me because it made me realise why some people do when they stop. Having said that I exercise quite a lot and it's become far easier since I stopped those 'orrible ciggys.

I've put on weight but I'm eating a lot better. When smoking I was any size of 6 8 or 10. Now I'm 10 to 12. My weight gain has been mainly in one specific area. Now I can breathe easier, I'm starting to get fitter, not lose weight

@spikeyfridge - I have to laugh at your comment; I seem to be getting much fitter, but still can't shift my spare tyre. Maybe it's just my age? Or perhaps I just need to exercise much more Wither way, I'm feeling much better about myself, and at least I'm managing to shift that excess weight around on my bike, so that's all doing me good I suppose!
