The VTR/aerotank seems a good suggestion, but the only issue might be that some people have reported the threads stripping, which would be less than ideal. The ring at the top of the mod offers some protection from this. If you don't mind mech mods, building your own coils (microcoil and cotton), and want something rock solid you could pick up a clone heron atty and a clone mod with 20x1 threads like the gp paps or tree of life. It'll set you back about £35 if you order from china, the atty hybridises onto the mod so there's no connector to get jammed, and it's a steel tube. It also tastes fantastic

Thank you macmagoo who offered up an MVP in the classies today.....early bday pressie for gray from good ole mum! Along with a decent charger and battery from myepack, he bought his own extra aerotank 2 and lovely GF bought a protank2 with airflow thing. So hopefully heavy duty might be solved? But someone please tell him they aren't indestructible! And batteries need charging! And carrying safely! I could tell him, but, well, you know how it is! So two more vapers on the shinyitis trail. They also learned how to recoil and wick and we are also discovering mixing!

I have found the vape only vmecha with a kayfun nano and 18490 battery is small enough to go in pocket/tool belt is bloody solid as if you use full stainkess steel tank setup its basically a lsolid ump of stainless must Swy I'm bloody impressed with this little mod and it has a inbuilt fuse.

If you want an electronic Mod then the VTR is pretty tough, Its very heavy though, and may slow you down if your jumping fences trying to chase someone down.
On the other hand if you want something that has no wires or electronic wizardry that could break if given a hard knock, then you may want to look into a mechanical Mod as they are just a battery in a metal tube.
On the left is the VTR electronic Mod and on the right is a lightweight Gizmo Mechanical Mod.
With something like the Gizmo you could use the aerotank Mow which is a perfect fit and you could use factory made coils in it. The only thing with Mechanical mods is there are no safety features so it wont detect a short in a coil and it wont automatically switch off when the battery is low, so something to test the coil on before using would be needed. Like one of these that will check the resistance of the coil and the voltage of the battery.

hijack, the gizmo looks lovely, but don't encourage him! Enough shinyitis! But it's certainly worth keeping in mind.....he's relatively new to vaping, ego types so far so the VTR is a big step up really. He'd just better not clout anyone with it cos birthdays only happen once a year icon_shoppingm

Sorry sleedale I just wanted to show there are some lightweight options, so if he likes the idea of that, then he can do a bit of research into how to use them safely

I know hijack, it's lovely of you to show various options, and yes, he will need to do research now.....it's beyond what I use so all advice is welcome here......must get him to check this thread himself! I'm liking the look of that Gizmo myself....

People have offered up Mech Mods as a choice because of the nature of his job where you would expect the Mod would have to be able to take abuse and still work after. Its not something that is usually recommended for a beginner, so a bit of research into how they work and how to use safely is required. Take a look at considerations-when-using-mech. Its aimed at beginners and enforces the safety side of using a mech. Also there are many on here that will give you advice about anything specific that you may want to ask.
