...to a supposed friend of mine who commented, rather negatively & pompously, towards vaping & the harm it is creating on the human race....... proving to me, once again, how gullible some people are by reading the media reports without doing their homework....her comments resulted from me posting this..........









My reply to her was thus:-

To my knowledge, you're not & never have been a smoker, so maybe you haven't had the experience of that particular addiction.....I, like many others have, in my case for over 40 years & I tried everything from gum, patches, will power & even hypnotherapy, to try & kick the habit .....all without success.....it's not something I am proud of.......for some, one or more of these ways works for them.....in many, none do........I heard about vaping & after a lot of research (because I'm that way inclined with everything I undertake) I decided to give it a shot, particularly after my last bout with the Big C.........That was 2 years ago & I feel better for it.....I breath much easier & my lungs are healthier (which has been clinically tested on me) & when I told my GP, Oncologist & Haematologist about it, got a pat on the back & their full backing for taking it up........I would rather heed their advice & blessing, than that of the media or the government.........The government are pissed off, because they are losing millions in tax revenue from the near non-existent sale of tobacco.......in a way, they created their own problem in that respect & they need a way of reimbursing their loss.........hence wanting to make vaping regulated & by prescription only..........Yes, it is true, nobody knows the long term effects of vaping, the same as they don't know the long term effects of coffee, tea or many other addictions .......but instead of scaremongering & jumping to conclusions, without any medical or scientific facts to back up their assumptions, maybe they should do their homework first, like I did......................Everyone has their own opinions on things & that's fine..............but all I suggest is they read up on their subjects, before following the masses & voicing those opinions, based on what they read or hear about.............given the choice, I know I've made the right one..........

I totally get how you feel. I too tried various other ways to quit smoking over 25 years with no success. the longest I stopped for was during my 1st pregnancy, I was wretched for the entire 9 months and craved a cigarette the whole time. I sparked up a cigarette the moment I could hobble from my bed to the smoking room after delivery!

I won't let anyone dictate to me now, about my personal addiction - knowing how relatively stress free quitting via vaping has been. it's been a revelation!
