Vaping and still smoking poll

Struggled on and off with a skycig set up for a couple of months but then made the switch to an ego and ce4 and my mindset finally clicked into the right gear and haven't had a fag since dec 15th

Had my last fag 15 months ago. As soon as my little CE4 & ego kit turned up at my door I never touched one again. I had 3 and a half packs of 20 cigs left which stayed on the bottom ledge of my coffee table till January this year when I ended up giving them to 2 people who smoked and wouldn't change to vaping. They must have been a bit dried out but they were desperate for a fag after running out just after they'd landed at the airport, and it was late at night so they couldn't buy any.

Don't miss the fags and try to stay away as much as possible from smokers as I no longer like the smell and don't want my hair & clothes to stink. When I see peeps lighting up those stinkies I just feel sad for them, that they haven't discovered the joy of vaping.

The first fortnight I smoked/vaped and didn't put myself under any pressure to not smoke . . . it was that first one of the morning I found the hardest to kick.

Then one Saturday morning 3rd April 2010 I woke up and didn't crave one immediately my eyes were open, after that I knew I didn't have to smoke.

A short period of unemployment, losing a beloved and special pet, moving house, starting a new pressurized job and my Dad's death - none of those events have ever made me seriously think about sparking up again - nothing short of a miracle for me, as my waking hours revolved around smoking.

I don't ever want to go back.

Thanks Chrissie. I did look for the poll option when I created the post, didn't realize how it's done. Think I made a bit of a mess it now lol

haven't had a stinky since 23rd Jan 16:15 - the first week my subconscious occasionally wanted one - so I told my subconscious to shut up- after that only twice I thought that I wanted one - just grabbed my vaping stick had a few puffs and was fine

now I consider my self as a non smoker - as I don't even think of cigarettes any more

No, you haven't made a mess at all doctorjellybean You have had lots of response to this thread so it's more than fine as it is, but the option is still there if you do want to turn it into a poll

I started vaping April 2013 and both vaped and smoked for a couple of weeks, then stopped the cigs......but......went to visit my mum which is quite stressful and smoked cigs as a way of getting some peace outside for a few minutes so then both vaped and smoked a few for a while. Like many people it was the first one of the morning that I thought was impossible to give up, then realised that if I could happily vape all day, evening and night I really didn't need to have a fag first thing, so April 3rd this year stopped cigs and haven't had one since. Never, ever thought I'd stop smoking. Never. Then this. It's remarkable. Now if I feel I want a cig, I vape and remind myself it's better. I do occasionally think I want a cig, my brain is still trying to fool me I think. Now even around smokers, it doesn't bother me and the smell on someone who has just had a cig is foul. I feel better, must smell nicer and the house doesn't stink like a dirty ashtray. Hope I never go back. Hope I'm never forced to.

I've not had one smoke since I first started vaping.
Every now and then I will get the craving for one but then I have a good 'ol vape then bang and the craving's gone

Nearly a year since my last fag, took my last few puffs, stubbed it out then walked into the local vape shop and bought a vastly overpriced starter kit and a bottle of disgusting tobacco liquid......., then I found this forum. Happy days !!!
Haven't smoked a cigarette since, the smell makes my feel physically sick and that's after smoking for over 30 years, lol, strange

Started vaping in January, last ciggie was after I first got up on 28th February, wife still smokes but I now hate it when she lights up, and the stench when she puts it out is really vile, I still have one unopened pack in one of my printer paper drawers (I can see it all day) to remind me what a waste of money it was.

Stopped smoking April 2013 not had one since, do get the occasional craving but when I do i just vape a bit more... If things go the way they are going I'll have stopped vaping by the end of the year, down to 3mg at the mo, tried a couple fills of zero but not quite there yet.

From a 30 a day smoker to this... I am so pleased after trying all the various NHS options which were a waste of time for me and waste of money for the NHS.
