OK, that wasn't bad... only a short piece, but no-one mentioned smoking e-cigs and Dr Robert West got his point across really well. All in all, I'd say another positive piece

Just seen it. Not bad! Shame we had to have the usual "think of the children" business. ..and the "what about the people who take this up and get addicted to nicotine"... I reckon if you take up Vaping for fun and use 6mg/12mg liquid, you'll probably be able to stop overnight... unlike a few months on 1mg fags.

This says it all... Lead author Professor Ann McNeill from the National Addiction Centre at King's College London, said: "We were surprised by the negativity of the commissioned review, and found it misleading and not an accurate reflection of available evidence.
"E-cigarettes are new and we certainly don't yet have all the answers to their long-term health impact, but what we do know is that they are much safer than cigarettes, which kill over six million people a year worldwide."

Did anyone listen to radio 2 Jeremy Vine this afternoon ? Professor John Ashton speaking about ecigs ? I almost threw my radio out of the window listening to him spouting the usual cr@p, He just wouldn't shut his mouth up. A very rude man. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04fqt2z

E: this is the best entertainment I've had all week it makes Basil Fawlty or Larry David (in Curb your Enthusiasm) seem rational.

Saw the piece on 'news at 10' It was very positive and actually talked of numbers of lives that could be saved. Also mentioned the conflicting info coming out from the WHO last week. People may start believing the people that are doing the research, rather than the ones that are just trying to cover their ass so they wont need to resign from their highly paid jobs at some point in the future.

the big problem is the constant mixed messages coming out, from the good (people who have researched properly) to the bad (scaremongers worried about losing pharma etc funding) and the perception that will generate within the general populous May the Good win the day

The most positive thing for me is not only the changes in the articles on te BBC website about vaping in recent months, but more importantly the comments left on them. Nearly all of the comments from the last few articles have been in favour of vaping and shows even non-vapers are beginning to get their heads around it. It used to be that there would be a raft of "ban it all" comments and the minority would be people who explained how vaping works. Those people now commenting that vaping should be banned are starting to come across as the equivilant of EDL members commenting on a story about a nice multi faith event.

To me the best thing about all this is that NO BODY has been able to PROVE that Ecigs are harmful , hence the mention of long term studies on the effects of the use of Ecigs , which speaks loud volumes to me that vaping even in its present form has little or no harmful effects on health , you can bet your life on it many of man hrs have been spent on it trying to prove other wise and have yet come up with NOTHING .

Too true and the tests they have done they've had to fudge and cherry pick to get a result they wanted

This needs it's own thread! I got told about this by 2 different people today. I'd missed it, as I don't "do" sky.
