Struggling to get a great vape from the Rose, I'm probably doing something wrong. Have it set up with 0.3 kanthal 1.4ohms, the flavour is decent but I'm getting a better vape from my Kayfun. Would thicker wire be better for this atty? Really want to get this setup right, at the moment it's just ok. Any advice would be great. What's poor about it, I found it easy to mount the coil too low and it really restricts airflow and vapour. Try lifting the coil a little by pulling it up gently with tweezers, makes a big difference for me. I find that if I try adjusting the coil once it's been fitted, that the legs of the coil seem to come loose and then the resistance starts jumping all over the place. The vapour is definitely less than my Kayfun, and when placing the coil I use a screwdriver so it doesn't go down past that. I struggle to keep the coil in place and keep it tidy, however it does still work. What's Rico cotton by the way?

If the vapour is less than your kayfun then it's likely the coil is to low. The other possibility is the position of the base. I found if the very bottom piece is positioned incorrectly then the plastic washer lines up with the air hole and restricts air flow. You should be able to poke a paperclip in the airhole. If you only get the tip in then the plastic disc is in the way, I have no idea how I sorted this other than faffing around taking apart and refitting until a straightened paperclip goes right in the airhole.
I'll find you a link for Rico in a mo.

But as I said it's probably me not getting it right.

Just try poking a straightened paperclip or a piece of 0.3 in the airhole without taking it apart, if it goes in an inch or so the base is fine. Here's the Rico, perfect for wicking the Rose, double it over and pull it through coil with a loop of Kanthal, coil needs to be 3mm diametre. www.hobbycraft.co.uk/rico-fashion-summer-white/585331-1000

Screwed it apart, loosened the screw where the delrin is but now I can't get an ohms reading. How do I fix the airflow?

I just kept taking it apart and trying to start the threads at a different point till I got it right. You don't need to loosen the screw where the delrin is. By doing that you twist the positive post and may have snapped your coil. Move the screw back so you can see the positive pin Allen screw is ligned up so you can get the Allen key in.

Can't get the base to thread any other way, airflow hole is still closed over. Is there any fix for this? Every time I thread the base the airflow hole ends up in the exact same place. Looks like a faulty base, has anyone else had this trouble?

I fixed it with trial and error and because you can't see what's happening it's difficult to give directions other than persevere. maybe @windows has come across this. maybe it's not even an issue but it seemed to sort airflow issues out for me.

Ive just had a look at one of my spare bases iLardyboy and the airhole ends up in line with the fat part of the plastic so its obviously not that causing your probs. Have you checked that both the hole in the plastic and the one on the outside has been drilled out correctly.
