Yes, I know, part of the V2 upgrade, it`s still bloody close at the edges though, even with the shamfered hole I dont have any problem coiling my original, and not too much trouble with the clone so long as the legs are dead straight. I`m tempted to get the dremel out, I have just the tool to sort it

Take it from me if that gets jambed its game over for the base, as I found out the hard way.

When I did my first build I was amazed at how close the chassis and the positive post where you poke the wires in is. I would have thought it would have been easy enough to put an insulater on top of the post with a hole in it. It may actually be there on the original, I dont know. But the way it is now, a bit of swarf would certainly bridge that gap, no matter how small it was.

But the way it is now, a bit of swarf would certainly bridge that gap, no matter how small it was. I think its only downfall is that it was really designed so it would accept dual coils hence the reason they put the wick holes between the two slots. Its a shame they didn't design a single coil base with one set of slots lined up with the coil holes. They could have then offered the present base as an extra for dual coilers. Think they missed a marketing opopportunity there.

Does anyone know what size the sample of wire is provided in the kit? I thought I read that you have to use .28 or higher. Mine is .25 so was thinking of maybe using the sample wire . Not sure if there that much of a difference.
