ive just received my protank 2 + the airflow from myepack, very quick service. im currently using one of the 2 kanger heads that came with it before i move onto the unicoil heads once ive got the hang of it. i am getting a very slight burnt taste with it. ive had a punt round the net and cant really find a solution other than removing the the bottom rubber which will cause other issues. i have screwed the head into the airflow then the airflow on the the tank at start up. ant solutions too this?. thanks.

You could try closing the airflow a bit I think too much air can dry the wick out too quickly.

Once you start useingbthe unicoil heads it shouldn't be an issue I use the normal heads and recoil them immediately as the stock wires are rubbish. The unicoil ones won't be like that.

Except better, of course yeah, lol. i just looked again, my wifes one has the blue rubber on id thought it was quite different from the kanger head rubber till i looked at a new one and see they was the same. just about too fire up the unicoil now, the kandar was still tasting burnt, ive took the what looks like a silica wick off the kanger and washed it as well as the coil, dried it and put it away, be alright if im desperate. edit: can i use the cotton wool in the kanger if ever i use them, the one wick i washed came a bit unravelled.

What battery are you using ragjoy , VV/VW type or plain Ego? If it's a VV/VW then turn the voltage or wattage down a touch until that burnt taste has gone. You can recoil them Kanger heads yourself using THIS sweet little guide.

Not really sure then ragjoyI use a Protank 2 with the v2 AFC with (2ohm) microcoil and cotton wool on my Zmax and I don't have any problems. I also vape around the 7.5 - 9 watt mark depending what juice I am vaping at the time and usually have the airflow open on the 3rd mark/notch. Are you putting enough cotton wool through the coil? Too much will make it too tight so that the juice doesn't wick fast enough which could be giving you the burnt taste. Have a look at the wicking section in the guide I linked to for an idea of how much to use. It's hard to explain, but you should be threading enough cotton wool through the coil so it is tight enough to pull through giving a slight amount of resistance but not too loose that it will come out too easily.

ive only put this one in tonight ( a new unicoil)so its not been re-wicked. all my juice is 100% pg, dont know if that makes a difference, im not getting a burnt taste with this one like i did with the kanger head. dont get me wrong its fine and better than my boges in a tank but on my wifes evod battery @ 3.8 with the kit tank it has a lot more whoomph to it, i think it needs more air but i kept it right down after as was advised it may have been causing the burnt taste when i was using the kanger head. while typing ive give it more air at 8.5 and theres a big improvement.
