Hi, made my first batch of diy juice yesterday after extensive reading online i went for the safe option of 18mg 50/50 nic base. figured for a first attempt it would be easier and safer. so my question is what methods of steeping have you found to be most effective?. Right now ive just stuck them in a dark pantry with lids off, will most likely be placing lids on later shaking then leaving for another 24 hours. releasing air then leaving again. I have read/watched alot on steeping but all the info is conflicting since there is so many ways to steep.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mixing. .I just leave mine on the window ledge for 24hours with tops off, then give them a good shake, tops on and then put them away and try and forget about them. It's worth the wait. I now have a good back up stock so it is easier.

Thanks my plan was to put them away after 24 hours with the tops off, but release air from the bottles and shake them every 24 hrs or so. but if just completely leaving them after the initial 24 hours works well ill do that, how many weeks do you leave them roughly? im in no rush for them so time is no issue. Also one of them seems to be cloudy i read that this sometimes happens and not to worry too much about it, has anyone experienced this with their own mixes?

The question 'how long to steep' is so difficult to answer, as there are so many variables. Fruits can be ready quite quickly, desserts take longer and custard needs ages.
Whatever you've mixed, if time is not an issue, give it a few weeks and try it - you can always put it back in the cupboard if it's not ready.

General rule I try to follow is... mints/menthols - 1 day fruits - 1 week desserts/tobaccos - 1 month custard - as long as you can - 3 months is really good, but if you're a custard fan, you have to get some serious mixing done and fairly regularly to be able to leave it this long... 4-6 weeks at an absolute minimum. And yes, I have had some mixes that started off cloudy but cleared during steeping

best steeping method is patience - i just put my bottles with lids on in a drawer - and wait and wait and wait - the longer the better - at least 4 weeks for custardy stuff

well if you like anis - try a 50/50 black currant -absynth mix - bioth of dekadent vapour - you can get them on chef's vapour - that mixture does not neet any steeping - you can vape it straight away
