twisted 0.28mm and red astair megga pain with kfl today

Well finally got round to trying a twisted coil in on of my kfl.
Made up 5 meters of 0.28 twisted then annealed the whole Iot.
Cut a 4" length off and wrapped it on a 2mm mandrel came out at 0.8 ohms.
Then the fun started the positive block on the kfl bloody moved screw was loose on centerpin so tightened it up rechecked ohms 0.02 hmm shorting but where.
Checked coil wasn't touching all clear 
Unscrewed coil and checked still shorting with no coil 
Unscrewed the centerpin and noticed that the rubber washer was not present like on my other one.
Used one of the spares o rings i bought for the fill screw put it on to centerpost and re assembled using vice to hold the top blocks in line.
Check airhole allignmrnt and tweeked put on tester and all good remade anouther coil @0.8 ohms rayon wick and red Astaire @20%.
not huge vapour but flavour is very intense. Yumnyum i reckon i could cut it to 15% and still be fab

Sounding good how many wraps of the .28 did you use to get .8 ohms ?

Just before reading this I've just twisted a length of .2 kanthal and done 10 wraps around a jewellers screwdriver. I was bored and I have no idea what it will come out at but I'll see once I've drained the kfl lol.

I've got .9 ohms with 8 wraps .28mm twisted kanthal in my kayfun at the minute JayJ if that's any help to you.

Had a strange experience with "subohming" today, made a coil c/o Riptrippers (yeah I know) of 4 separate strands of 28 ga not wound together, but wound in parallel around a drill bit. It was shite. The end.

(Flavour was ok, but on 60% VG it was like vaping an Elite)

Did my first twisted build today too.... 0.4 x 0.1 flat, 8 2mm wraps dual coil in my Plume Veil comes out at 0.8ohms, and the flavour is very, very good. Noticably better than a normal micro coil. The other nice thing is it's a much smoother vape, none of the pops and crackles that you can get... just smooth tasty vape.
Might stick a couple more in to go for a quad 0.4!

Always test you coils on an ohms meter before you use them. It will probably come out around 1.7ohms because thinner wire = higher resistance.

Had 8 1/2 wraps as legs are splayed flat for the kfl. 
I did twist the wire bloody tight with the drill as well.
