Trying not to be anti, but it's so hard

Before I went out today for a Sunday lunch I had a shower and put clean clothes on. Got to the restaurant and ordered our dinners. 4 people came in & sat down at the table next to ours, all were smokers and were chain smoking whilst drinking. The smoke was drifting over to our table and smelt awful.

Anyway got home and my hair & clothes stunk of cigarettes, so had to jump in the shower again and change clothes.

Being a former smoker I try not to be anti about other people smoking, but I'm finding it harder and harder as time goes on not to be anti-smoking.

How about everyone else, are you getting that way as well?

Nope. Not at all.

But then again, I didn't really want to stop smoking in the first place. I just prefer vaping as a method of nicotine delivery.

I can see how it might be more difficult for some people though. I guess it help that I still smoke when abroad.

im with gregb on this one we were all smokers once so I am prepared to put up with it

There's nothing worse than an ex smoker, they are much worse than non smokers. The worst comments i used to get when i smoked were always from people who had given up.

I don't say anything and I don't give them any bad looks, I do put up with it but the longer I don't smoke myself I'm finding my tolerance level is going down when it affects me such as making me stink.

That's why I try not to be anti in the company of smokers or smokers near me, coz I know how I used to feel if anyone said anything to me or gave me bad looks.

I am VERY anti smoking in eating establishments when abroad, my wife has NEVER smoked and I never smoked in her company, if we sat down for dinner and others sat down and smoked I would always ask them to wait until after they'd eaten, I explained that I was (then) also a smoker but didn't think it was fair to inflict smoke upon those who didn't partake.

I personally think that smoking, even vaping, should not be allowed in restaurants. (Indoors that is)

But, you have to allow for local customs.

It's obnoxious..just like loud conversation or boisterous behaviour on the next table.

I much prefer to eat at home.
