Hi,
I've been using a Kanger Aerotank and an iClear 30s which came with my VTR for the past couple of weeks. I've really been impressed with the iclear. I find it gives the best clouds and taste of the two. So based on this I just ordered 2 more tanks and 2 replacement heads for the iclears.
I've setup my old tank with a new head and also filled one of the new tanks with a different juice. But I am finding with both tanks, the first hit is fine, tastes good and plenty of cloud.. but the subsequent hits whilst still have cloud, do not taste right, almost burnt and with no flavor from the juice at all. Is this what is called a dry hit?
Whats bugging me is how can it go from my favorite tank to this? Am I doing something wrong? Are you supposed to do something with a new iclear head before using it?
For info I am using my usual juice I was using before (same bottles!) and both are 50/50. I guess it's almost like after the first hit the juice isn't wicking, but yesterday with the old head I had none of these problems?! Any ideas?

Sounds like a case of vapours tongue, most of us experience it from time to time, try a really strong menthol for a bit and then go back to you favourites.

What power setting are you using your vtr on, the 30s is dual coil and a lot of people run them at a lot higher wattage than usual.

Normally run the iclear at 5.8 volt. I've tried going down to 3 volt and in between but still flavorless hits after a couple of pulls that feel a bit dry / harsh.

Change the vtr to watts and try at about 8 when in wattage mode it will automatically change the volts so the same power goes to the atty irrespective of its resistance.

What resistance heads are you using? The 2.1 ohm ones are generally fine whereas the 1.5 ohm ones are temperamental spitty burny things!

Change the vtr to watts and try at about 8 when in wattage mode it will automatically change the volts so the same power goes to the atty irrespective of its resistance. Then slowly raise the watts til you're happy. I found the 1.5 or 2.2ohm's sweet spot around 11 or 12 watts. If they're 1.5ohm when you had it at 5.8volts it was running over 22watts - WAY too much.

thebatfink I've got around 8 iclear 30s's and I have no problem with mine like you are having. I use the 2.1 ohms on 12.5 watts and that is just perfect for me. That is also using the VTR as well. It seems like the problem has only just started with the new heads you've bought so I would check what the ohms are on those and then regulate the wattage on the VTR to a lower wattage if these new heads are less than 2.1 ohms, and in future buy the 2.1 ohms heads as they are pretty stable heads, I've not had a bad one yet, and I've gone through loads of them. Both the VTR coupled with the iclear 30s is my favourite set-up and has been for months now. You just need to get these heads sorted out I reckon. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. Yes one of these heads is showing as 1.6 ohm so I'll switch to the variable wattage and try again. I was kinda shocked because the iclear was head and shoulders my favourite of the tanks I've brought to try as well. 2.1 in the future!
Wonder if its possible I burnt the wick or something then at 5.8 volts and its not wicking well anymore? If I tip it upside down so the juice gets all around the top, I get a much better couple of vapes.

You cant really burn the wick in them as they are silica which with stand any amount of dry hits

They have silica wicks, so no damage done. There will be the taste of the burnt juice though, it may last a full tankfull, but iirc it shouldn't take long to vape through it
