Hi all, got myself a new mech mod this morning (first from brand new!) and I will need the help you wonderful people to set it up please. first question is, how do I clean it? Basically, the mod comes with three tubes but they reek of machine oil unfortunately I don't have a full size ultrasonic cleaner so is it ok to give the tubes a good wash in washing liquid and warm water? It is stainless steel, also do I need to clean the switch in anyway, I am terrified of pulling that apart or just used some cheap vodka and a cotton bud to clean around the contact? tia

Your plan is sound Mrsmac Make sure everything is thoroughly dried before putting back together.

Thank you@gregb so just use alcohol instead of pulling it apart, do you think I need to do anything with the spring or just assemble and carry on until I hit another problem?

is it ok to give the tubes a good wash in washing liquid and warm water? Yes but i wouldn't leave it in there for too long and dry them completely, myself personally i have a little tube of copper grease that i use in the switch and on the threads

Switch will be just fine I'd think with just a wash if you don't want to strip it. In my view there's no need to strip unless there's a problem. I'm sure we'll gets some comments on the last sentence Just assemble after cleaning and drying everything and give it a go.

I have just noticed that there are no airholes around the top of the mod, will this be a problem for the kayfun lite plus v2 as the air adjustment screw is on the bottom?

No fine with the KFL Mrsmac as the air intake is on the side of the base of the KFL. You will have to take the KFL of the mod to adjust airflow of course but that's the case regardless of the mod

If your mod has no air holes or groves in the topcap then the only atties you can't really use with it are those that take air from a little hole in the 510 threads such as a protank.
Even then if you were to replace a protank base with an afc then they'd be fine too.

arghhhh thank you so much Greg, I have no choice but to build it now as my other kayfun which is on the zmax has gone and jumped its thread! Going to aim for around a 1.8 ohm build for around an 8 watt output ish

I have how given up as it appears that I cannot use my 650 button top batts as the tubes won't go together no matter what end I adjust and of course, I only have button top batts so what a waste of time that was
