I tried that drug a few years ago. Didn't feel depressed or suicidal but 30 minutes each time after taking it I felt very sick and the nausea was unbearable. I stopped it after a few days. Glad I did now.

Glad I did now. Yep exactly the same as me, I lasted about 4 days but constantly felt sick so stopped taking it.

Glad I did now. My only serious attempt at packing in smoking was with Champix 4+ years ago . . . I only had to swallow a tablet and it made me throw up. Still that made me really look harder for an alternative, fortunately ecigs had been around for a little while by then - otherwise I'd still be smoking.

I did a course of it back in 07 and all I can say is never again, the side effects were too much for me to go through it all again, plus I eventually went back to smoking.

Imagine if that was happening to e-cig users, there'd be a complete BAN immediately - no more to be said really is there

I actually know somebody, who managed to quit with Chantix as far as I know chantix and zyban are antidepressants - I once tried zyban , did not do anything for me but a bad skin rash - but then i guess I did not really want to quit, my husband could quit with zyban , a few years befoe we met - but he wanted to quit. Antidepressants - as strange as it sounds - can evoke suicidal ideas

Had some weird dreams, when I tried it a few years ago and bouts of sickness, not nice.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I dread to think how much nhs funding was wasted on the crap. Yesterday was exactly one year off fags for me and the OH, that's only due to vaping and all I've learnt mainly off this forum. They must have known about the sides for years yet did nada. How they have the cheek to try to condemn ecigs I will never know.

I've heard so many horror stories about it, I wouldn't have tried them.

I'm not pro Champax. But, I had no side effects apart from some really intense dreams, did not stop me smoking though.
Bought a cig alike and stopped over night.
Not saved a penny tbh, too many shinies. I do however feel a hell of a lot better for it.

I just remembered by Brother used Champix to quit smoking and they did work for him. I don't think he has smoked now for 4 years or so.

Originally prescribed as an antidepressant, one of the side effects being less desire to smoke, another being suicidal tendencies... never a good side effect for someone with depression. Which is why drs are not supposed to prescribe it if you've experienced bouts of depression.
