So my maraxus arrived yesterday, followed by the organic cotton balls, vtc3's and Kanthal. Now the video tutorial I saw the guy was using 28 guage Kanthal which I now understand is actually .3mm is that correct? I ordered .28mm!
Anyway .28 is what I have so can I use that to achieve a single sub ohm coil? It looks way to thin to set up single wound duel coils but I may be mistaken?
I was thinking of a 2/3 strand twisted coil as in the previous thread where 6x0.2 was twisted although my atempt was a complete fail!
This set up will be on a kraken genny with 3.5 mm coils and a single cotton wick through the coil but the into both wick holes.

Twisted would work best. I use 20/22g which I believe is like 0.6/0.8mm when I'm blowing "clouds" I use 28g twisted for my kayfun and it gives a nice warm vape with decent flavour

What's the best for every day vaping? Is a sub set going to give enough flavour?

The 0.2x6 twist was my thread.. twisting your wire is good for flavour, and reducing ohms, but twisted wire is a fair bit harder to build a coil from (it's a lot more springy, even when torched). If you want to sub-ohm on a single coil your best bet is probably to get yourself some 0.5mm wire. You might want to think about smaller coils as 3.5mm diameter is quite big!

I've only just read it's for a Genesis... Kinda missed that bit Never had any luck with a Genesis, especially at low ohms...

What's the best for every day vaping? Is a sub set going to give enough flavour? Set up right a sub set up gives LOADS of flavour, that's another reason why a lot of us do it. You've seen the big clouds people make, well imagine the amount of flavour in that much vapour. Nomanomanomanom

I'd probably start with the 24G 0.5mm stuff and get the hang of it first, you can do quite a lot with it. What sort of batteries have you got? And what atty?

24 or 22g kanthal is best for getting a low resistance, 0.3,0.4 even 0.5ohm If you want to get low ohms while still being able to wrap long coils to cover more surface area then consider the wire I linked you to or something like royal wires. Thr stuff I Linked to is the same stuff that G-plat wire is. Can add more wraps which give you more surface area but lower ohms than regular kanthal

What sort of batteries have you got? And what atty? Agreed. 24g is still easy to work with. When you get to 18 & 20g it's Soooo hard to coil and work with!

Got a 100ft of it for £15 all in from a place called lightening vapes in the states. This is one of usual 20G builds And this is the 18G fence wire lol Had to do it as a single strand too due to the thickness of it.
