I have a Nitecore i4 Charger , had it well over a year now. Charging bay 1 packed in a while back, so has bay 3 now. So time to buy a new charger. While searching around the net, for the best price on a new Nitecore i4 I came across a couple of posts, complaining about the Nitecore i4, with the same probs, bays 1 and 3 not charging. Any one heard anything on this ?
Back to choosing a new charger, any recommendation's ?. Thanks in advance.

+1 on the d4, I upgraded from my i4 when the d4 came out. I never had any problems with my i4, I believe they were upgraded and these upgrades continue on the d4 Touch wood I haven't heard one complaint about the d4 yet

If you can't wait a month for China then the cheapest place I have seen is on ebay for £22 (delivered) m.ebay.co.uk/itm/291206672917?nav=SEARCHI paid £24 about a month ago so that's a pretty sweet price TBH. The XTAR is still ester pricey, £40 some places, £29.99 at Ukecig! If you don't have the have 4 bays then the XTAR VP2 is a great choice and a solid charger.

My I4 going strong after 18 months, but I have read of plenty of problems, maybe there are too many clones out there. Only problem i've had is this weekend, stuffed 4 18650's in it, dont think your meant to do that, but I was at home so would hear the bang if it played up (I charge in a fireproof area), but it took the little sod 24 hours to charge the bats, sure someones going to tell me i should not have done it, but if its got 4 bays why not use them.

No problems with charging 4x 18650's it will be slower (shouldn't take 24 hours though) If you only charge 2 you should use bay 1&3 or 2&4 (to get the fastest charge) but charging 4 at a time is fine, I do it all the time

So using 1+2 is the quickest? TBH now I have the D4 it's not really an issue..

Sorry Q, just checked my instructions and Marcus is correct. The instructions warn that when charging two AAA batteries you should use 1&3 and 2&4 to cut the power down to a lower and safer level for AAA batteries to be charged at. Therefore if wanting to charge our higher capacity 18650s faster we should use 1&2 or 3&4. It is not very clear and I had to read both the features and precautions sections twice to clarify it.
