We bought an old caravan last year and it came with one full cylinder and one "nearly empty" cylinder.

Apart from testing all the gas appliances, we have had four trips away in the van, cooking and heating the van with gas and the "nearly empty" cylinder is still being used!

I must be secretly towing a gas tanker along behind me!

We average 6wks in the van each year & have only bought 1 x 6kg bottle in the last 3yrs, we usually have hook-up though & only use gas for cooking, but nevertheless the gas seems to last forever.

A work mate however reckons he gets through 2 x 6kg bottles a week CL camping gas only, seems a bit OTT to me. He's running his calor lites empty before exchanging, apparently they swap 'em for full ones FOC.

I think your mate must be running a couple of BBQs off it to get through that amount of gas a week.
