What would you expect from a YouGov poll . Never seen a true result yet.

Only 9% of ecig users said it helped them quit the stinkies, that is pure bull It would be easy enough to get such a result and for it to be very misleading. i.e. Lets say 50% of smokers have had at least one or two tokes on an e-cig; possible someone elses but no more; They are asked in a survey 'have you used an e-cig' answer yes; they get put down as an e-cig user. Then 'did it help you stop smoking' answer 'No' obviously. Even if everyone who has seriously tried to use an e-cig has been successful they would still be a small percentage of half of all smokers (just under 10% of all adults in the country). Unless one knows precisely what questions where asked and what methods where used these research results are meaningless; indeed they are often still meaningless although then one can see why. Fodder for the gullible.

As for most people supporting a ban in public places; why would most people not support such a ban. Most people (80% plus) neither smoke or vape it is understandable that they would not want it done around them however small the dangers or slight the smell etc. Since the smoking ban people have got into the habit of thinking banning something is a logical response to anything they do not like themselves.

I would agree with the ban in public buildings , not because of health worries but because I've come to enjoy going to restaurants and the cinema without the constant fog of cigarette smoke. Don't think I'd like vapour to replace it regardless of weather I vape or not, surely people can do without nicotine for an hour or two , if not then just head outside for a quick vape !

If I could agree with that basically but suggest there is no need for any total legal ban. Shops; employers etc will in most cases ban vaping anyway. It leaves room for anyone who actually wants to attract vapers to their premises i.e. vaping cafes and shops free to do so. Some pubs may want to promote themselves as vape friendly I think they should have the option. Most will not no doubt and that is OK too. I think we have become too keen to see legislation as the answer when a bit of common sense is all that is needed.

Who on earth took part in this poll? I never knew of a poll. Did it get a mention on forums, social media etc? I'm very cynical about this. 9% is E-lites numbers, maybe even a good score for those useless pieces of rip-off plastic placebo junk. That's more like it! You see, it pays to actually get some data rather than rely on a poll of numpty Nicolites dual fuellers. Lies, damned lies and statistics. You see, that's not true either. Mayor Boris did categorically NOT want to ban smoking in public parks (and presumable many other places). In fact, he called them "bossy and nannying" www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/pa/article-2793525/Ban-smoking-parks-report-says.htmlStick that in the end of your cig-a-crap E-lites nonsense and try to vape it.

That's an even better suggestion, I'd probably agree to the idea of 'vape friendly' cafés etc

What can I say, if they think they need to ban e-cigs of any kind in public , because they may be detrimental to other people health or whatever reason they are going to come up with next, then they had better ban all lorries, busses, coaches, etc because the heart foundation has proved undoubtedly that standing at a bus stop behind a bus, or working in a factory environment where lorries frequent, all scenarios like this, causes many more heart attacks , and heart lung damage, than smoking real ciggies let alone e-cigs.
I agree if they want to ban it in shops etc fine, but outside a hospital, in a park, in my own car nope

I don't think anyone is suggesting banning in open air spaces other than hospital grounds. Nor cars unless minors are onboard.

Smoking is been banned in open spaces, Parks and beaches are the latest idea, so vaping will follow

Surely your not suggesting all vehicles should be banned
