zeldamum Have you thought about fostering for a charity? It's a great way to help out and eventually the right dog comes and never goes again (just like our Henry)... When you are ready for another dog it might be a good idea, xx (Sorry for the hijack, hop over to the Members Only page and join the Spaniel thread, I'll change it to 'doggy' thread to be all inclusive, although I think most dogs are honorary Spaniels anyway ) I did think about fostering, but I now have 7 cats and 4 guinea pigs so I don't think my home would be suitable for fostering at the moment, maybe when the guinea pigs die I will consider it again.

This is the diff between mean and RMS for 0-6 V PWM which if IIRC is similar to the iStick, these are just done by the formula not measured so YMMV. You can see the difference is much bigger for the lower values. Mean RMS 0.30 1.34 0.60 1.90 0.90 2.32 1.20 2.68 1.50 3.00 1.80 3.29 2.10 3.55 2.40 3.79 2.70 4.02 3.00 4.24 3.30 4.45 3.60 4.65 3.90 4.84 4.20 5.02 4.50 5.20 4.80 5.37 5.10 5.53 5.40 5.69 5.70 5.85 6.00 6.00 (E: FYI each step is a 0.05 increase in the duty cycle, from 0.05 - 1) That is pretty close I'd say. From watching P Busardo's review and a few calculations I reckon it pulses from 0 to about 5.7 volts although the high voltage does wobble a little bit over the range of settings.

Wait what, the iStick uses PWM? Oh well, didn't really want one anyway. (lie)

All these numbers mean nowt to me I'm afraid......BUT.....after the disasters yesterday, iStick has performed flawlessly today, even after charging (to nearly full) so maybe making new coils (using my favoured Kanthal .28) which made lovely micro coils of 9wraps for 1.7-1.9ohms made a difference. The only thing I can think that might have been causing the burning cw was that the original micro coils were only 6 wraps so maybe because they were only quite 'narrow' the coil got too hot too quickly over a tiny part of the cw wick? Although on the mvp and spinner I didn't have any problems. Anyhoooo, all good on the istick front, now happily waiting for the red/pink/cerise one to swim over from China

sleedale the 1st column would be the V value on the iStick screen, the 2nd would be what it puts out, ignore the 3rd. One thing to note is that it is more inaccurate at lower settings.

Thank you VapingBad, so at its current 3.4 it's actually 4.4 volts.........So when I tried to set it at 7.5w no wonder it was a bit too hot although that's still very low for a device that goes up to 20w.....can't imagine ever using it that high.....unless I need to fry an egg or two Now there's an idea.........a tiny little hot plate that fits over the coil on the atty........no? Oh, ok

Just had a bit of a blip... wouldn't fire on any attie... screen said 'lock'. Can't find any useful instructions. Battery was about half full, so put it on to charge for just a few minutes... and all was well. Just wondering ???
