For a quick test I've just swapped out my old recoiled heads for brand spanking new Kanger ones (luckily I have some spares but they are 2.4ohm and silica) but It seems to have stopped the burned cw (well it would wouldn't it) and, the two mini PT now work with the supplied ego adaptor, so maybe my old heads are 'a bit worn' @scooby, I've read that these are a bit.....volatile but doesn't seem to really bother people.....maybe I've just got an over active one......... Not regretting it yet, but I do have another one on its way from China.......they might end up on the classies if this one doesn't settle down. Don't like 2.4ohm and don't like silica wicks! Ah well, time to forget it all and take the dog out.

Pressing the fire button 3 times toggles between volts and watts, which I have only just found out after looking on the Eleaf site. knew that as well I bet you also know that the screen is covered in a plastic film that needs removing

I guess the reason people are getting burnt hits on this is because of the way it calculates the voltage (it is a pulsed output and uses average rather than the more correct RMS). This means that at its lowest setting of 3 volts it is actually putting out more like 4 volts and a bit. When things get squared it has an even more dramatic effect on Watts. I like 9/10 watts for instance and I have to set this at 6 watts for the same effect. On the plus side, set at its lowest so it doesn't set fire to my cw, the battery will last a bit longer think I need a provari.........

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH why is this tiny device trying to fry my cotton wool? PT2 with airflow; mini PT, aerotank; and the PT2 with normal base just doesn't register! I am getting very frequent burnt hits, not just odd ones, but lots of them.......even when I turn the blummin thing right down to the lowest watts or volts. I'm going to recoil some of the tanks, and rewick to see if I did something wrong but to be honest they work fine on the mvp I am one very unhappy bunny This happened to the OH one she has, i just switched it over from VW too VV and all sorted. Just tried that but no joy

Im new to this but might be able to add a point.
I find the istick hits harder quicker, on my MVP for instance I take two drags, a mouth one only then a lung one, kinda letting it warm the coil up regardless of wattage. The istick warms up quicker and for me personally is a lot better to use, ie lung hit straight of the bat. I have also stuck my dripper on each device and watched the coil, the istick gets It glowing first.
Is it because you long term users are so use to RMS?
If they change the pulse on version 2 I may well have to snap up a few no.1's quickly........

I've only had mine 24hrs and have also found flavour is more to my liking at lower power than I usually use. dave seems to have come up with a plausible explanation I cant go below 6.9w with a 1.3ohm coil so does it have variable power and not the 4.7w - 20w specified, depending on the resistance of the coil?

And i'm in contrast! I prefer the flavour at what would have been my usual wattage but is actually higher, our Dave kindly done the conversion and it is roughly 4 watts higher than i usually like it!

Think it's just one of those days......even the dog didn't coooerate I really, really don't like silica wicks anymore so I'm having a cup of tea, then I'm going to recoil the new heads with new Kanthal and cotton wool and try again. Out of interest, would using the supplied ego adaptor, which is temperamental to say the least, have any effect of the volts/watts fluctuation? Things seem worse when I'm using that, although it was tying to fry my PT2 earlier. It was so very lovely yesterday, and the only thing I've done is charged it up. and it's so very pretty too Maybe my mvp has hexed it?

Mine hasn't got the plastic strip, or if it has, I can't see or feel it. On the plus side it's still going strong for over 24 hours on the original charge, and constant use.

Just checked mine with a volt meter and it's all over the place, don't get any burnt hits though. Same meter on VS rDNA and Semovar are rock steady as you would expect. You cant read these on a multimeter because they use Pulse Width Modulation .......................................... dont ask
