Well if we're on a toffee quest I would like Bonfire Toffee.
Yes that is a treacle toffee, but not any old treacle toffee - its the one thats chrystalised and more like a boiled sweet than a toffee (you can't really chew it - well you sort of can if you melt it in your mouth by drinking steaming hot coffee at the same time) - anyway I loves the stuff and tis seasonal too so go go my clever mixers and I shall follow gratefully in your pioneering footsteps...

Would that be like the stuff you used to buy in a slab, that came with a little metal hammer to break it? (You've been added as toffee number two)

Hmmm the perfect toffee?? Well Q QS flat toffee's are indeed damn near perfect, but I also remember that I used to LOVE higland toffee bars when I was younger. Problem is that I can't actually remember what they tasted like - just that I loved them ??? I think my ideal toffee vape would be a clotted cream type toffee Could be an interesting one... I've been searching for a clotted cream concentrate but I cant seem to find one, artistic licence may be called for here

Thats one version of it - you also used to be able to buy it from the sweet shop when I was a kid by the quarter and it was single textured tablets of the stuff - they used to stick together something chronic if you left them in your pocket! Showing my age here lol Has a different, darker more intense taste than normal treacle toffee.

My favourite toffee from childhood was a soft toffee in a paper wrap of white with blue lines, twisted around the sweet. My next door neighbour used to keep a bag of these in his jacket pocket and would throw them into our garden when we were out playing for us to find. I got so highly attuned to the sound of a toffee falling into the undergrowth, but I'm sure there must be some still in the ground somewhere. If you live in Hayle, check your gardens for toffee trees!!

spacey - I would start with St. George's Road if I were you! I don't think that the lane exists any more, obliterated by a new housing development. Ah, those were the days . . .
