Anyone else hear the sonic boom 16:40 today

It was caused by a couple of RAF Typhoons going after a Lithuanian cargo plane over Dartford apparently BBC story. I was walking the dog in SE Hertfordshire and did, just thought it was distant thunder.

If there were two somewhat elongated booms with a short break between, it may have been a practice response to your eagerly awaited next funny..

the media tripe has only come to light in recent years, soliders not enough enough money???? im sorry but we all know what we sign up for and for the past god knows how long i didn't hear anyone saying they were getting paid for doing nothing???

Opps, stuck my big old can opener into that can of worms with my sill joke.  If you risk your life for you country let alone the other hardships you should have a better than decent wage, pension and civi-street should value your experience much more than they do after you leave.

no complaints from me mate, thankfully i don't have to live with the poor wages that the army/marines/surface fleet have to deal with.....but then i knew this before i joined.

pension wise, even with the current shake up, the armed forces remain better off than their civilian counterpart added to which we are non-contributing.

Interestingly enough, I did hear a boom at about that time and thought it was thunder - but I'm about 350 miles SW of where you heard it VapingBad, so I can't explain that one - most strange!!

Heard that as well, I'm in Hayle cornwall, thought in was thunder.
