I'm loathe to use an ereader. The thought of giving up my 'real' books breaks my heart. I have a wall of keepers which I am trying to find a future home for as a job lot. Otherwise I'll have to have a coffin for me and a coffin for my beloved books and go up in smoke together. Some I've had from a kid, others are full sets and some are really hard to get hold of I was the same as you and had literally hundreds of books, favourites that I would re-read when the mood took me but unfortunately running out of space demanded that I do something drastic and truthfully I now would not be without my ebook. It did cause a bit of a problem for my family tho as the easy option for them giving me a present was often a token for waterstones but now they have to think what to get me LOL

I like a physical book, I would never get the enjoyment from a kindle etc. I like to turn pages I guess, I don't know, I just know for me it has to be a physical book. Mrs Bad said the same, again and again and again, she is now on her second Kindle, takes it everywhere with her and loves them.

I'm rather limited on what books I can get hold of. I have to rely on British tourists bringing over books and leaving them behind after they've read them so that I can snatch 'em up I have managed to fill my bookcase with a nice selection of leftovers though I hate these kindle machines though, coz a lot of tourists now use these instead of bringing books over for me to grab Perhaps you could suggest to a friendly bar/ café / shop that you frequent that they could do a book exchange?
Where I stay in Spain a couple of café bars do it, you can buy a book for 1 euro or you can take a book in and buy another for 50cents.
When I am there I read a book everyday, 2 days max, so each week I take in 7 and bring back 7 new to me ones ready for the following weeks read.
Yes, I have picked a few up from some bars when I've seen they've got books going. A few days ago, one of my neighbours put a small bookcase in the lobby of our complex with a few books on, then some other neighbours in the block put a few on as well, and I put the last one I read on the bookcase too so we've got one shelf already full up with books. Hopefully we can keep our own selection going as we do have 84 apartments in our block, not all English though, a lot are Spanish, but that's good if the Spanish start swapping theirs around too

I just love a 'real' book.
I am very isolated, but have a mobile library twice a month...
Reading is one of my favourite hobbies - along with music & knitting ( I'm getting on you know )

Mrs Bad said the same, again and again and again, she is now on her second Kindle, takes it everywhere with her and loves them. I was exactly the same... hundreds of books in this house, some in a number of bookcases, most in boxes as I really struggle to part with them... BUT, my first ever Christmas present from Mr Lairey was a Kindle and it is still the best present he has ever bought me. I'm predominantly a suspense/thriller reader with David Baldacci being my current favourite, although I think I have now read all of his, so looking for recommendations folks? (forget Lee Child, James Patterson, Michael Connolly, Harlan Coben, John Grisham as I think I have read all of theirs too) Oh, and for those of you looking for a new author, CJ Box is a great thriller writer with a bit of a difference
