They just regulate the voltage really decoy so as the power levels go up the coil is looking for more volts and amps. The amp limits on the new stuff must be a lot higher to cope with the subohm coils etc. You dont really want anything to interfere with the way the mod works by using protected batteries. If you have a 0.2 ohm coil with 4 volts across it, it`s going to draw 20 Amps and give you 80watts. It it doesnt get the amps and volts levels, it wont produce the power. Obviously if you are drawing close to the battery`s maximum safe current, it is going to start to heat up.

I am sure someone can prove me wrong but I haven`t seen a 3100mah battery that can supply the current safely and comfortably in a 30watt plus mod, Efest are very naughty boys , not for the first time

So as long as I work out the amps with the ohms and watts and keep under the 20amp limit of the efests then they are good to go?
Regarding the efest rewrapping - I thought Torchy tests those batteries and only sells 'decent' batteries?

It`s not unusual for companies to buy good batteries and put their own name on them and Torchy is highly regarded and will know exactly what`s under the wrapper from the tests he does I am still suspicious of the 3100mah claim, it seems a bit high, but it`s borderline, so I could be wrong.

I'm using Samsung 25rs in mine and they seem to ensure performing well. I read a load of forums and people have put them on par with the vt5s.

So I received the purple efests the other day I'm currently using them in my VTR. My old Efest Red 2100mah from a full charge be at least yellow by the end of the day and occasionally flickering into the red. I've now had one of the purples in all yesterday and today and its still indicating green so whether the batteries really are 3100mah I don't know, but they definitely have more juice than my 2100mah.
Just thought I would update with some real life usage incase anyone else is looking at these batteries. For info I vape 2.1 ohm iclear30s tanks at 11.5 fixed watts with it.

actual mah 3098 (well one the ones he tested) Yes but look at the voltage readouts.. The only mod that would let you take them all the way down to 2.5v is the Dicodes Dani.. mechs generally drop off at around 3.4v and most regulated mods cut between 3-3.2v.. Torchy sent a few batteries out to a few UKV members last month, and the results go to show that it's not all about total capacity but more about how the cell handles the voltages theough it's use.. Efest Purple Comparison - 3100mah vs 2100mah
