www.thelocal.es/20141103/spain-turns-back-on-e-cigarettes-ance-whoAre you worried tootsOne Italian shop owner who arrived in Spain nine months ago to open an e-cigarette store told El Confidencial of his shock at seeing three such shops on a Madrid street in the space of 200 metres (220 yards). "Madness. As soon as I said it I knew that things would turn to shit for most of us," he said.

Think a lot of this may have been a case of supply far out pacing demand as in the case of the Italian moving to Spain to open a shop

Think a lot of this may have been a case of supply far out pacing demand as in the case of the Italian moving to Spain to open a shop I totally agree, although it was strange as when I first moved to Spain 2 years ago with my vaping business no-one had even heard of e-cigs but in the last 6 months all my amigos were saying that I should open a bricks and mortar shop as they know of 3 that had opened in the same town, by which time it was too late. To be honest, the main reason for not wanting to was because the Spanish government were making a lot of hype about the dangers of them, about hefty taxation and trying to ban them from being used inside bars and public buildings before doing a u-turn and wanting to tax bars for allowing them to be used indoors. From experience, Spain being Spain and being very corrupt I really did not want to risk a hefty fine which they are well known for slapping on foreign businesses for the silliest of things, like having the wrong type of olive oil on restaurant tables. I kid you not, the country is a joke and is closed for business most of the time for fiestas & siestas and their postal system is a joke unless you bribe your postie with a free drink every day to prevent him opening your mail and stealing anything that takes their liking. It may be different in other parts of the country but in Valencia it is no wonder the country is bankrupt as no-one ever wants to work and the counsellors and politicians pocket any euro money that comes there way. Rant over, but I am sure there is more to it than just supply and demand and personally I am so happy to be back to the fantastic normal diverse weather such as dew, mist, fog on the tyne, drizzle, clouds, frost, rainbows to name a few of our fantastic climate wonders that we whine about, but its so much better than constant blue skies.I even find myself smiling when I see rain outside, and no I am not mad.

Hi, I am back for good as some boyband tried to sing I believe. My hooch is still out there with my folks but they are bringing him over for Christmas so I can not wait. Don't think he will be too happy with the weather though as he loves it there and strolls off into the swimming pool by himself when I am not there. Just hope Buster doesn't try and jump in the fish pond here.

Nope, I'm not worried Ron, don't use the shops. I mainly use FT and some UK online sites. I really don't know much about what's happening with the shops in Spain. First I heard a while back that there were loads closing down due to someone spouting off that he had the patent for e-cigs and was going to sue all those selling e-cigs, now I hear there's too many shops so they're closing down. Whatever the truth is I really don't know. Probably just another media frenzy on it all

Yep, I have to agree with you re Spain being very corrupt. I've lived on the island for around 13 years now and I've never seen so much corruption (except in the case of e-cig worldwide corruption of course). I think it is even more rife over here in Tenerife than it is in mainland Spain, especially in the South where I live, you can't even trust the solicitors half the time Sometimes I wonder myself why the hell I'm still living here

The weather... yep, that's probably the ONLY reason I'd be straight back on a plane to the UK if the climate swapped over to the UK
